Hilly Hvar

Despite having incredible luck in Hvar previously, today was a relative calamity. Jack and I had decided that we wanted to get mopeds and explore more of Hvar rather than just sticking around the main town. Unfortunately, because I had never ridden a moped before, the place we were recommended to rent from refused to let us borrow one. In retrospect, we probably should have just found somewhere else and lied, but at the time, we decided electric bikes were the next best option.
We found somewhere that rented them cheaply, but after waiting around for almost an hour, combined with the lack of sleep and a brutal hangover, we were already starting to regret the idea of cycling around the island all day. Eventually, the bikes arrived, and we set off towards our first destination, Milna Beach. It wasn't particularly far from where we started, but the constant hills along the way quickly made one thing obvious: this was not going to be a sustainable mode of transport.
We spent some time at the beach and grabbed some food before deciding to cut our losses and head back towards Hvar Town. On the way, we stopped at a few of the other beaches around the city and parked up for a while, eventually spending most of the afternoon relaxing rather than actually exploring. By the time we returned the bikes, the owner was shocked at how little distance we had travelled. We didn't really care. We were far too hungover to attempt anything more strenuous, and at that point, simply making it through the day felt like an achievement.
That was more or less the end of the day. I caught up with the Canadian girls for another night of drinks, while Jack had started feeling sick and decided to call it an early night to try and recover.
