• Dubai -> Casablanca

    2 Disember 2023, Maghribi ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

    After I finally arrived in Dubai, I was already exhausted. Yet, I still had to get to my next flight. Although I arrived slightly late, I still had plenty of time to get to my next gate, or so I thought. Dubai airport is massive, and to change terminals, I had to walk about 20 minutes and catch a train. This meant that by the time I arrived at my gate, it was open for boarding. Leaving me zero time to buy a coffee. Nonetheless, I got through my gate, boarded my flight, and sat again for just over 9 hours. This time, I had a free seat next to me and a window, so I was excited to try and catch up on sleep. Once again, though, I only captured about an hour. I was fucked by this point, and had already exhausted all of my TV show, movie, podcast, and music options from the last 20 hours of flying that I had already completed. Because I had no time between flights, this meant I couldn't reup on my netflix downloads and so this flight felt very fucking long. In future, you can never download too many shows for long travel days. In the end, I was glad I didn't have a lot of time waiting at airports. In fact, I had almost no time wasted between flights, but it is also sometimes good to have an opportunity to stretch your legs and connect to some internet for a while. My travel was very effective, though admittedly quite risky and painful.

    Probably the most frustrating part of my day came when I finally arrived in Morocco. It had been about 30 hours of travel, and I just wanted to get to my hotel. Yet, the airport shuttle that Intrepid was supposed to organise for me was not there to collect me. Once again, without a sim card, there was no one I could contact, and so I had to get my own taxi. An otherwise small inconvenience, but after many hours of travel and no sleep, my patience was paper thin.
