Packed up and hung out at a café until our next apartment was ready for us. Encarna welcomed us and gave us a lively intro, using gestures, sound effects, French, English, and Google Translate when all else failed. 🤣

Headed back over to the Roman Museum from yesterday to explore the upper floor and the walls from outside. Left Joe, who was fascinated with the Museum exhibits, and went to explore the walls from the outside. Turned left and started walking counterclockwise when I found a spot to sketch. A few people stopped and chatted, including an older man with his young grandson.

Continued walking counterclockwise, and when the walls seemed to end, I turned in towards the Old Town . . . And where should I find myself but at the Plaza od San Isodoro, where we heard the marching bands two nights ago and where Joe and I ate yesterday. 😊 All roads must lead to San Isodoro.

Kids were playing soccer in the courtyard in front of the church while their parents gathered around chatting. Joe joined me there, and we headed back to our new digs to meet up with Abby & Eric to find some dinner.

We found a wonderful spot with a great waiter who was working his buns off, serving inside as well as outside. We encouraged him to take his time getting stuff for us, and he immediately some deep meditative breaths with his hands held, finger to thumb. 😜

On our way back, we crossed through some streets and a plaza we had seen before. I feel like it won't be long before we have the lay of the land. Still amazed at how everyone turns out for a beer or a glass of wine with family and friends after dark before calling it a day. And it's a MONDAY.

Sad note: We got word that Eli's beloved rescue tortoiseshell cat Udon had passed. This is one time I wish we could be home right now.
