    Easy morning getting going
Headed to the Museum of León with Joe

    1. Photograph gallery
    2. Prehistoric era
    3. Roman era

    Interesting notes:
One exhibit made the claim that the 300 years of Roman rule set the stage for the Middle Ages by establishing an urban ruling class and an agricultural labor class. I'd never heard that before.

Also, it claimed that the walls were as much to protect the ruling elite, with all the peasant uprisings, as much as they were to defend against invaders

    4. Middle Ages
    5. Modern times

We THOUGHT it closed at 1pm for the afternoon break and so went outside. When Joe learned that the break wasn't until 2, he went right back in.
I needed outdoor time and Strolled around looking for something to sketch. Settled on a tower of the Gaudí museum nearby.

Lunched with A&E at café: salad & pulled pork quesadilla (!!!).
Visited Danish store Flying Tiger nearby
Joe wanted to resume his visit at the museum at 4, and I wanted to be outside. Walked around until I ran into Abby & Eric, who were heading back to the apartment.

On the way, I found the winning combo of a public bench in the shade with a view of the pedestrian street. Lovely time sketching there.

As the sun was going down, I finally headed back to the apartment. The things I had put out on the line had dried, so I pulled them in.

Joe came back with goodies, so we put together a table of bread, crackers, ham, cheese, olives, etc. and pulled out the sangria.
Eric persevered finding something to watch on TV. Finally settled on "First Dates," a Spanish reality show, which was fun to watch, though we really didn't understand much. Reading the body language was where all the fun was for us.

And now it's bedtime.🌙 Tomorrow is A&E's last full day here, and we meet their friend Cathy, who lives about a half hour outside of León. She volunteers sometimes at an albergue, and I hear has stories to tell.
