Darwin

Back in the big smoke, literally, they are doing hazard reduction everywhere up here. Staying at the Hidden Valley caravan park for a few days, pleasant enough place although near the airport and Hidden Valley race circuit. The had a Burnout & Mullet event on Sat & Sun night- enough said! Rhianna , Angela’s niece took us to Litchfield NP for the day and Florence falls & the Cascades were the standouts- plenty of water still flowing & swimming allowed. Finished the day off with a meal at a pub. I had a steak schnitzel- like a chicken one only steak- never seen it on a menu before- was ok. Darwin wasn’t too crowded but the week end before it hosted Bassinthegrass music festival and apparently the city almost ran out of beer. The only photo we took in Darwin was of a python at least 3 metres long in a tree in the botanic gardens(bit hard to see). There was a wedding ceremony happening below, guests oblivious.Read more
