Mexico City 3 - bike day and lucha libre

Heute war Kultur- und Fahrradtag. Mit Mireille, meiner kanadischen Bettgenossin war ich im Museum de Bellas Artes (schöne Künste), welches ein klasse Art Deco Gebäude ist und hauptsächlich die Kunst von Federico Silva zeigte, einem politischen Künstler, der in der mexikanischen Kunst muy wichtig ist.

Auf dem Weg dahin haben wir uns gewundert, dass einige Hauptstraßen gesperrt waren, aber dann erinnerten wir uns warum: Präsident Biden und Premier Trudeau von Kanada sind in der Stadt und prompt fährt die ganze Kolonne an uns vorbei.

Im Anschluss haben wir dann das fantastische Fahrrad-Ausleihangebot der Stadt genutzt. Per App kann man überall in der Stadt Fahrräder nutzen und kann so viel mehr von der Stadt sehen, ohne dass die Füße qualmen.

Der krönende Abschluss war dann der Lucha Libre: Dieses Schauspiel der Wrestler. War ganz witzig und zum Teil auch recht sportlich. Ist ja alles Theater, aber die Mexikaner stehen voll drauf 🤣

Today was culture and bike day. With Mireille, my Canadian bedmate, I went to the Museum de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts), which is in a superb Art Deco building and mainly displays the art of Federico Silva, a political artist who is muy important in Mexican art.
On our way there we were surprised that some main roads were closed, but then we remembered why: President Biden and Premier Trudeau of Canada are in town and the whole tross of cars promptly drives past us.
We then took advantage of the city's fantastic bike rental service. With the app, you can use bikes anywhere in the city and see so much more of the city without getting smoking feet .
The icing on the cake was the Lucha Libre: this spectacle of the wrestlers. It was very funny and sometimes quite sporty. It's all theater, but the Mexicans are totally into it 🤣Read more
