Chetumal 1

Von Tulum geht es in die Hauptstadt von Quintana Roo, nach Chetumal. Wir haben eine ganz schicke Wohnung für wenig Geld gemietet und sind etwas erstaunt, wie sauber und angenehm die Stadt daher kommt. Wir gehen spazieren, das Meer ist nicht weit weg und es ist schön hier. Eine Stadt, die wenig von Touristen besucht wird und vielleicht gerade deshalb sehr authentisch rüberkommt. Die Leute sind super freundlich.
Ganz in der Nähe der Wohnung ist eine Busstation und wir kaufen Tickets um morgen einen Tagesausflug nach Bacalar zu machen. Wir wollten zuerst dort übernachten, haben uns dann aber für diese Variante entschieden, damit wir direkt dort sind, wo die Fähre nach Belize ablegt - unser nächstes Reiseziel.

From Tulum we head to the capital of Quintana Roo, Chetumal. We rented quite a nice apartment for little money and are a bit amazed at how clean and pleasant the city is. We go for a walk, the sea isn't far away and it's beautiful here. A city that is rarely visited by tourists and that is perhaps why it comes across as very authentic. People are super friendly.
There is a bus station very close to the apartment and we buy tickets to go on a day trip to Bacalar tomorrow. We were initially planning to stay there, but decided to do it this way so that we would be right where the ferry departs for Belize - our next destination.

Desde Tulum nos dirigimos a la capital de Quintana Roo, Chetumal. Alquilamos un apartamento muy elegante por poco dinero y estamos un poco sorprendidos de lo limpia y agradable que es la ciudad. Salimos a caminar, el mar no está lejos y aquí es hermoso. Una ciudad poco visitada por los turistas y quizás por eso se muestra muy auténtica. La gente es muy amable.
