Arrived in Penang Island, Georgetown🇲🇾

From Hat Yai 🇹🇭 we drove with a mini van 🚐 to the border control in Malaysia. 🇲🇾

The entry was really very easy and fast and we got a free visa for 3 months. We didn't have to worry about anything, the driver informed us about everything and helped us through the control. 👍🏼

After the border control we finally went to Penang Island. The journey took a total of 4 hours. The ride was very pleasant, we had a very nice driver and felt safe the whole time. In the evening we arrived in Georgetown on Penang Island. 🏝

Georgetown is well known for its unique street art. In 2008 the city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

We rented a bike to ride through the streets and explore the street art. The street art is really cool, so you can take funny pictures. Unfortunately, many paintings have already broken, so that you can hardly see anything, which is really sad. 😕

We met Philipp again for the second time and had a nice evening with him.☺️

Georgetown is a very noisy city because it is so full with people and there are so many mosques in the area, all of them have loudspeakers and prayers are blasted throughout the city several times a day. Our accommodation is right near a mosque and we woke up several times at night from the prayers. That's really a big difference to Thailand, where it was really very quiet, especially on Koh Tao. 😅

Tomorrow we're going to Penang Hill ⛰ from there you should have an unbelievable view over the island. 🏝😍Read more
