  • Poland tour - Warsaw!

    29 de junho de 2018, Polônia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

First trip to Poland and wasn’t sure what to expect and Warsaw is not on my favourite places list and I can’t quite figure out why as it’s cheap, in parts very pretty and my favourite bar since travelling is here but I just never connected with the place in my few days here! The bar I mentioned is a place called legends and it’s owned by a Scouser from old swan - had an absolute ball here and met some characters! I met a guy from NZ called robbie who was travelling around Europe for 6 months - real cool guy who I still keep in touch with and will meet up with In Tokyo as he has a place there! I also met 2 guys who own the betting platform that major betting companies use (they bought us all drinks) there was also a guy who owned a Diamond mine in SA who gave me his card if I ever wanted a job Hahahahaha.Leia mais

  • Poland Tour - Gdansk

    3 de julho de 2018, Polônia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

After Warsaw I made the trip up to Gdańsk - 1st class train ticket was so cheap Hahahahaha. Anyway completely different to Warsaw, made a connection instantly here. Much smaller, friendlier and relaxed than Warsaw. It’s also much prettier and cheaper. It was here I also saw England win on penalties in a World Cup (see picture of me grinning with my cap on as it was just after it had finished) not an awful lot to do in Gdańsk although I did make my way up to sopot which is a little seaside town which is nice (no photos unfortunately)Leia mais

  • Poland Tour - Krakow

    5 de julho de 2018, Polônia ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Came here after my few days in Gdańsk (again 1st class train Hahahahaha) beautiful city - no other words for it! Cheap food, cheap beer and beautiful women 😂😂😂 ended up meeting some crazy German dudes whilst watching the England game and we all ended up in a strip club afterwards to which we where eventually kicked out as one of them kept annoying the waiter there! But krakow is brilliant, will return at some point to eat more food!Leia mais

  • Germany - Nuremberg

    9 de julho de 2018, Alemanha ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Came here as I found a cheap Ryanair flight from Poland on a whim really! So glad I came here, bit of an unknown gem this place and I wasn’t expecting much but it was so much better than I thought it would be. A medieval city built inside walls, very pretty and a lot of character and history with the Nuremberg trials! Also the best local beer I ever had was in the hostel I was staying at - it was called Schanzenbrau - Helles. Was beautiful! Would recommend here if you have a spare 3 days, it’s cheap and quiet compared to other major cities!Leia mais

  • Budapest - unreal city!!

    12 de julho de 2018, Hungria ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Came here after Nuremberg as everyone told me this was a must city and boy they where right!! Such a cool place and it’s definitely on my list to return - the food is cheap, the beer is cheaper and the locals are friendly, it also helped the weather was awesome when I was there. The ruin bar scene is something we should have in the UK - so different but awesome and there’s plenty of them! Also met up with a few lads from Slovakia in my hostel who took me on a bar crawl.... hungover is not sufficient enough to describe the hell I went through the day after!!!Leia mais

  • Berlin - Part 2

    17 de julho de 2018, Alemanha ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Came back to Berlin to meet up with some close friends who invited me along to watch ‘Ed Sheeran’ who was playing in Berlin! Although I’d of come back even without Ed sheeran as I’m not his biggest fan, but the city is so cool! We stayed in the west side of the city which was new for me as I’d only stayed in the east previously. However I had such a good time and it always helps when you’re in amazing company! We drank, we sang, we laughed. This trip is up there with the best and it’s all down to the company!Leia mais

  • Portugal Tour - Porto/ Vila Nova de Gaia

    31 de agosto de 2018, Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Back off travelling after my brothers wedding and decided on Portugal as it was a cheap flight and got some good deals on some hostels especially at blue sock hostel in Porto - brilliant place! Wasn’t sure what to expect from Portugal as I’d never been before so started my journey off in Porto as it seemed a safe bet, and I’m so glad I did! Such a cool place, very pretty although very hilly! Great food, cheap beer and awesome weather!Leia mais

  • Portugal Tour - Lisbon

    4 de setembro de 2018, Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Got the train down from Porto to Lisbon for a few days, to explore the capital of Portugal! Different feel than Porto, had a ‘big city’ vibe which I didn’t get in Porto! Stayed in NL hostel which was cool, you had to take an old style fence gate lift to get there as it was in an old large building which was cool! Ended up in a pub called ‘the george’ on my first night and there was a guy called Danny Menezes playing guitar and singing who was awesome! Anyway long story short I end up out around Lisbon with him drinking and watching live music! We ended up in the Liverpool bar which was awful then we met up with these Dutch guys (one was called William) and we drink and partied with them all night! Was a long long walk back to the hostel but very much worth it!Leia mais

  • Portugal Tour - Alvor - Wedding

    30 de setembro de 2018, Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

After a brief visit back home I flew back out to Portugal to meet up with some friends after their wedding and decided to continue my Portuguese trip from Alvor! Pretty little town, brilliant beaches and some awesome karaoke bars Hahahahaha - it’s a great place if you’re looking for a few days to relax but with some home comforts as there was plenty of ‘British’ bars etc! Stayed in an apartment on the golf course where the wedding was which was brilliant - I had hired a car for the trip as I wanted to drive around the national parks in the Algarve! Turned out to be a great decision...Leia mais

  • Portugal trip - Sagres!

    4 de outubro de 2018, Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

After leaving the guys in Alvor I decided to drive to the most south western tip of Europe which is Sagres! Stayed in a cool cool hostel called black sheep - real bohemian vibe.... also helped that Ste and Jen where kind enough to give me all the left over ale from the wedding hahaha. Ended up literally at ‘worlds end’ which is basically where earlier Europeans thought the world actually ended which was quite a cool feeling, especially when I got to watch the sun ‘fall off the edge of the world’ with some guys staying in my hostel!Leia mais

  • Portugal tour - Albufeira

    9 de outubro de 2018, Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Last stop on my Portuguese tour was the tourist town of Albufeira - basically spent 3 days sunbathing and didn’t get around much although I did take a trip into the old town which was pretty, although I do think it’s become too much of a tourist attraction now which is a shame. The weather was glorious and I was running low on money so I just chilled and recharged my batteries ready for a quick trip to Belfast then getting ready for my best friends wedding. Coincidently Albufeira is where I actually completed my speech for the wedding..... 🎩Leia mais

  • Home for the Big Day!!

    27 de outubro de 2018, Inglaterra ⋅ ☀️ 5 °C

The big day finally came around - my best friends wedding day 🎩 - and what a day it was, was shattered by 10:30 😂😂

Genuinely brilliant day and I couldn’t be happier for Kelly and Julie and as one of his best men along with Shaun the day was not as stressful as I first feared. Shaun kept me calm just before the speeches which helped hahhha. Julie looked stunning and it was great to see all out friends in a room together as it doesn’t happen so much anymore!

Although the day did get off to a bad start when the dog managed to escape undetected and was gone for 40 minutes before we realised 😂😂 so we ended up having 3 cars driving around Huyton looking for the dog - even nearly had Adam in his car looking to help as he had called me when I was driving around looking for him 😂😂

Luckily Andy (the usher) found him and we all breathed a sigh of relief Hahahahaha

Just some pictures of the day below

  • USA Tour - Boston, Massachusetts

    14 de novembro de 2018, Estados Unidos ⋅ 🌙 -1 °C

So... this is it. The start of my big adventure, although weirdly I’m not nervous or worried at all. Not even a little bit. I’m so excited I don’t have time for thoughts like that. I just want today to start ASAP. I flew into Providence, Rhode Island which is the next state over and got a train from there into Boston. The train journey was pretty uneventful as was the flight over to be fair. But as soon as I stepped out of that station, and saw Boston for the first time, it was at that moment I knew I couldn’t waste a second or let a moment pass me by.

The lights, the sounds and the ice cold air hitting me in the face was a feeling I won’t forget.

It was quite late when I got all checked into my hostel which was ‘HI BOSTON’ so I decided to go for a drink and then get some sleep ready for my first full day on my adventure....

  • USA Tour - Boston, Massachusetts

    15 de novembro de 2018, Estados Unidos ⋅ ☀️ -1 °C

First full day in Boston and I was up and out early in the crisp, cold fresh morning. Today I was visiting Fenway
Park, which was a fair way away from the Hostel but I always walk when I’m away, I only use public transport when absolutely necessary. And I’m glad I didn’t use public transport as I’d of missed all the beautiful scenery, the sounds, watching people go about their lives.

Fenway Park was cool - real old school stadium, a lot smaller than what you’d think but it has real character. I even got to sit where Brad Pitt sat in the film ‘Moneyball’ I also managed to explore the local area and had a few beers in the ‘cask n flagon’ which is a huge bar next to the stadium where so the fans go.

After Fenway park I walked downtown which again is a fair old walk but it was brilliant. I went to the prudential tower in Boston to go to the skywalk observatory which gives you amazing views of the city. I spent over an hour in here just watching the sky get darker and the city getting brighter.

After I left here I went down to the Charles river and walked along the esplanade back towards Chinatown where I was staying - this was around a 3 mile walk right across the city’s riverfront.

To get to Chinatown you have to cut through Boston Common park, and on the edge of the park is the pub ‘Cheers’ so I just had to go in for a quick pint of beer... who wouldn’t?

Then as I left cheers to walk through the park the best thing happened - it started snowing.

Couldn’t ask for a better way to end the perfect day!

  • USA Tour - Boston, Massachusetts

    16 de novembro de 2018, Estados Unidos ⋅ 🌧 1 °C

Today I woke up surprisingly refreshed considering I had walked the length and breadth of Boston the day before. I had yet more walking planned for today as I was doing the ‘freedom trail’ which is a walk through Boston which takes you to some important sites in regards to the revolutionary war against the British army.

Really interesting walk and it took me through parts of the city I had not yet seen such a bunker hill. I spent pretty much all day doing this as I kept deviating off the route if I seen something interesting, I also hit a few pubs up along the way to keep my energy levels up!

I ended the day by walking around Chinatown looking for the most authentic place I could find - I found one called wai wai which was a basement level restaurant with no English writing anywhere - long story short, 2 course meal and a drink was $8 so a bargain really. However I wouldn’t recommend the duck... Hahahahaha
