Whyalla

Whyalla ist die drittgrösste Stadt in South Australia, mit vielen Industrie- und Hafenanlagen aber auch einem sehr schönen Strand. An dem kleinen Hafen neben dem Strand konnten wir viele Delfine sehen. Sie kamen mit den einfahrenden Booten und hofften auf ein bisschen Fisch. Am Strand kann man bei Ebbe etwa 800m auf dem Sand laufen und bei Flut soweit ins Wasser gehen, bei ca. 1m Wassertiefe. Das war bei gutem Wind natürlich ein Paradies für Kitesurfer, also konnte Viktor endlich wieder seinen Kite auspacken. Glücklicherweise haben wir hier auch wieder nette Leute kennengelernt, die uns einige Tipps geben konnten...

Whyalla ist the third biggest city in South Australia, with much industry- and harbour facilities but also with a lovely beach. At the small harbour beside the beach we could see some dolphins. They came with the incoming boats and hoped for a bit fish. At the beach at low tide you can walk about 800m far at the sand and at high tide you can walk into the water so far, at 1m water depth.
