• Dowdeswell Turn to Painswick- 18.1 Miles

    June 22, 2023 in England ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Long walk today! The sun shone brightly but luckily much of the walk especially in the afternoon took us through meandering woodland. In the morning we walked via Leckhampton Hill and on to Crickley Hill affording distant views to Gloucester and the Mendips beyond. This site was first inhabited at least 5,000 years ago in the New Stone Age. Enjoyed our lunch at Coopers Hill where they hold the annual cheese rolling event . Finished our walk in the picturesque and historic wool town of Painswick.
(Total distance walked today 23.1 miles).
