    Titahi Bay&Paekakariki Escarpment Track

    June 2, 2020 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 12 °C

We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning. The first picture and video is on the decking at Deb and Russ's house at Titahi bay. You can see the south island and manta island from there. We had eggs and bacon on toast for breakfast and then headed to the Escarpment track which is 10km long. We started in Pukerua and finished in Paekakariki Town. Apparently this way was steeper starting in Pukerua but we thought it would be nice to end in a town where we could get some lunch and a coffee. We went up some steep steps a long the cliff edge and walked along a few swing bridges and in to the forests. The track is 220m above sea level. It took us 3 hours in total to complete. We went to the beach at Paekakariki when we got there and then went to a cafe called the deli for some lunch. I had a quinoa salad and a iced coffee.

In the evening we went for another walk down to Titahi bay when the sun was coming down and then we had roast lamb in the evening.
