Island Explorer

Today we set sail for the islands. Starting at Abell Point Marina, we used Cruise Whitsunday which was actually the only option available (not a great service overall)

after 30 minutes the first stop was DayDream island. Smaller than Hamilton, it is more just a big hotel with really good facilities including an Aussie themed mini golf, swimming pools everywhere. we spent three hours here, used the swimming pool, got photos with the little mermaid and then again on the ferry to Hamilton island.

Another 30 minutes to Hamilton island. Hamilton is far bigger than Daydream, more like a little town. The Airport is also located here.

Long queues to get some lunch and get on the courtesy bus, we opted for a golf buggy to go around. Spent some time in the afternoon at Catseye beach.

When it was time to get back to Airlie we realised it was nearly impossible to get on board of the ferry as they were running over capacity, we had to stood up queuing under the intense sun for 45 minutes before we could get onto a ferry, terrible serviceLes mer
