Antarctica exhibition and Christchurch G

Today i visited two attractions that were on opposite sides of the city to each other.It was tricky to decide which to start with.However the bus for the Antarctica exhibition is outside the door ,so that seemed a good start 😀
Getting off the bus, near the airport as it happens i spotted a retail park which has a life size spitfire plane ...no idea why. In the retail park there was a Woolworths! I had to go in.My dad loved Woolworth as it was full of the Tat B&M now sells ...but this was more like walking into Asda...and I saw soooo many recognisable brands inc Yorkshire tea ! And so many items I'd not seen or particularly missed in past 62days..as hadto adapt to not having familiar things
The Antarctica exhibition was excellent! I had a ride in the front seat of the vehicle that's used to cross the snow ❄️ over a simulation course. The vehicle can go up hills at 45degrees and on its side to a tilt of 30degrees
Inside there was a cold room simulation of a snow storm. The room was -8 when I went in but the storm lowered the temp to -18 ...and even hiding in the igloo was bitterly cold...really excellent experience
There were husky dogs and penguins. The dogs are no longer used...and an explanation given how hard it was for the dogs in Antarctica.
I returned to Christchurch centre and got the bus going in the opposite direction to experience the gondola ride up the hill.Supposedly I'd see a great view across a harbour and over the city. However after a 40min bus ride and trip up the hill in the gondola, the clouds had come in, so no view ...just like when Math and I went to the Grand Canyon years ago ...
Back to Christchurch in search of food...iv been craving steak and had identified a place to go
Food was excellent and I could have a combination of lamb and steak.....even better!! With a glass of Merlot
It's cold !🥶and after 30degrees plus over past 8wks I really felt it tonight ...The restaurant isn't far from the hotel but I stumbled across a taxi and bailed...by jumping in.
Finding it funny that I'm on the next day ,before people at home have gone to bed ,at least I think thts how it isLæs mere
