    June 17, 2024 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

A coastal town that sits on the Cape York
Peninsula with astonishing views. Rich history of Captain Cook and the booming gold-rush days. We spent our day driving up to Grassy Hill Lookout, walked along Finch Bay, and through the botanical gardens. Then we took a stroll through town and walked along the water and parks. Spoke to some lovely indigenous locals about fishing here. We bought some fresh tiger prawns for dinner. Love the fact there were hardly any tourists here. This place was worth the visit!Read more

  • Georgetown & Forsyth - Gulf Country QLD

    July 4, 2024 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Just before entering in Georgetown we saw stunning landscapes. It’s amazing how the landscapes changes so quickly from rainforests to savannah land..

Arrived at Forsyth’s caravan park before lunch. We had lunch then headed off to do some fishing at Charleston dam. Jake caught a Long Tom fish but no luck with the Red Claw traps. We all had a splash in the dam to cool off. Back to our campsite, we then walked around Forsyth and explored the town’s history. We stopped in the only pub in town for a beer and then back to our campsite for $15 dinners and $5 beers, what a bargain!
