This is quite a nice place. There are several areas to visit around the lake. Some picnic day use areas and further around a huge camping area. There are some walks and water activities on the lake.

A wetland area is a giant magnet. Here there were Flying foxes, or fruit bats, ducks, coots and other birds. The boardwalk over the lake was named the Buchanan-Rolfe boardwalk.
