    The weekend

    We went to blackbutt on Friday night so we could finish the toilet. Daniel did a great job under very irritating circumstances. I think he had to take it out and put it back about 4 times! Shawn came to collect the rest of his things from the shed and Evie went and spent the night in Kingaroy.

    We came home about lunch time and meaghan took Evie for an outing to Wynnum where they had play at the park, a bike ride and an ice cream! I stayed home and had a sleep. I'm in the middle of a very persistent cold that is giving me bad sinus and limited voice! Evie and meaghan also went to Kmart to stock up on new paint and new paint pots. Thanks meaghan!    Les mer

    It is extremely dry here at the moment. I've been watering every couple of days to keep the plants going. The grass out the front is brown and crunchy. Here are a few photos from the garden this afternoon. Most of the vegetables are finished and I'm nearly ready to clean out the beds for the next lot.Les mer

    We started the day by going out to breakfast for Lauren's birthday. She was all booked up with work and watching Bek's twilight marathon yesterday.

    Meaghan and I had a bit of a sort and tidy upstairs (sewing room, Meaghan's room) but still lots to do.
    Swimming in the afternoon. Temperatures for at least the next week are set to be min 20 max 30ish degrees 😬 with Thursday predicted to hit 34. 😳    Les mer

    Busy few days

    We've had a busy few days leading up to the long weekend. Thursday we went to the library for a show about an adventure to find treasure. On Thursday afternoon Evie took my phone for a bath. Not the best idea. It went into a bag of rice overnight to see if we could dry it out.

    Friday Meaghan came to watch Evie at gymnastics. Then it was decided that my phone needed to be replaced. A pretty expensive bath toy 😒

    So on Saturday it was off to the Apple Store to get a new phone. The guy asked me if there was a reason why i got an iPhone 7 instead of the new 8. I told him it was a matter of about $400 or so!

    Saturday evening while Evie is staying with Shawn, meaghan, Daniel, Lauren and I went to Victoria Point for Grill'd and a movie. We saw 'It' (remake of the movie based on Stephen King's book about a killer clown) much to Lauren's disgust! Needless to say, Lauren won't be sleeping well tonight.    Les mer

    Daycare

    Evie has changed daycare days and now goes to Miss Sheryl's on Thursday and Friday. This is so that she can go to kindy on the other days next year. Some of the daycare fun from the last couple of days...Les mer

    Evie really wanted to go to the park to play on the playground but it was 31 degrees so we went to lollipops play centre and she had a wonderful time. It was air conditioned, parents get a free coffee and she just amused herself the whole time.Les mer

    Not really that exciting (ok, maybe it is for me!) but I am getting much better at putting half decent plaits in Evie's hair without screaming (both of us) and without it looking like a wonky, dishevelled mess! 2 plaits today! Now I need one of the Lanham girls or Meaghan to give me lessons in how to braid.Les mer

    Monday

    It's been raining all weekend and it's still raining. Cabin fever is setting in. When there's a break in the rain I'll take Evie out to the chicken coop for a while to break up the indoor time!

    We made our own almond milk for the first time. Worked really well! I got about 3 litres of milk out of 2 cups of almonds. Now I have all this almond meal leftover. We will have to think of something to bake with it all!Les mer

    Aliens

    Evie made an alien with play dough and other bits and pieces. She told me aliens can have lots of eyes but this one only needed 2. She also told me that it fell apart but she "mended it".

    Clear skies on Friday so we dried washing, mowed and whipper snipped and took some garage stuff to the dump.

    Saturday - it’s raining again! ☔️ what better way to spend a rainy day than going to ikea!

    Straddie

    Such a beautiful day! We took caitlin and Calum over to straddie to visit Daniel and Lauren. The weather was perfect and Evie had a ball!
