The final stop of a day of Amalfi exploration, I was more taken by Sant'agnello di Sorrento than Sorrento itself, for it's serene and retreat like feel. The Grand Hotel Cocumella certainly ranked amongst my favourite hotels in Campania, if not of those I've seen over my entire first year of travelling with work. Sorrento itself was nonetheless brilliant and I recognised the streets from my last visit.Read more
For want of better words, Naples is indeed as my colleague put it: "off it's trolley". The formerly degenerate city of Naples is now characterised by a dramatic amalgamation of it's rough around the edges past which is still apparent in endemic graffiti in the Spanish Quarter but also by a gentrifying and cleaner rising element, best displayed in the Chiaia district. The city is hard not to instantly fall in love with. Fantastic cocktail bars and of course pizza made my stay in Naples a memorable and excellent place to finish my Campanian journey on.Read more
