On the road to the westcoast

    September 7, 2023 in Sweden ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

The place we had stayed over night was quite expensive but in my opinion worth the money. As I mentioned yesterday there was a sauna, of course showers, but even a kitchen with dishwasher! What a luxury for us who don‘t even have a dishwasher at home in Zurich:) but except for the facilities the view was also amazing and it was right by the water. Later that morning, after having had breakfast, we headed down the small Pensinsula and arrived at Slott Läckö, a castle at the lake Vänern. We left the van, which we had now named Bro (after the first place we had stayed at) at a parking lot and walked around. The castle was pretty but it honestly looked better from further away, thats why we walked along the lake and admired it from there. The next stop on our Trip were the ship locks. There are many in sweden but we were lucky and stopped at a place where we got to see old ones from the last centuries and modern ones that were still being used. Shortly after we stopped at a café for swedish „fika“ (a break from activity during which people drink coffee, eat cakes or other light snacks, and relax with others.) The place even had glutenfree snacks and the coffee was delicious. Finally we were ready and full of energy for the last bit: the final drive to Smögen.Read more
