Day 3Skelwith Bridge to High St bottom

17km 568m Lovely morning. Lightning forecast and farmer strongly advised us not to go up high. We had planned this evening at top of High Street. Set off to Ambleside on lovely old track. Ambleside not too busy. And a Greggs. Marvellous. We even got given an extra roll by a friendly worker. Set off to Troutbeck on another delightful track with great views over Windermere. A tea shop was encountered entering into Troutbeck so we had to sample the wares. Very nice too. Still no rain but getting muggy. Decided to heed the farmers warning so plenty of time to get along the Dale to the highest bit we would get flat ground. A nice early finish. Both much fresher. Feet no worse for me. Helen Ok with her vast amounts of Vaseline. We’ve fetched pasties from Ambleside to enjoy for supper.Baca selengkapnya
