Freunde der Sonne ☀️
..kurz vor Weihnachten führt es uns zurück in die Natur und in das Herz einer der wohl beeindruckendsten Nationalparks - Yosemite!
Viele haben wahrscheinlich schon davon gehört und Bilder gesehen, einige waren vielleicht sogar schon dort.

Wir durften zwei Tage in den Genuss dieses Naturschauplatz kommen und wow, war es wunderschön und eindrucksvoll!
Yosemite ist irgendwie anders beeindruckend und, vorneweg gesagt, ganz klar einer unserer Favoriten aller Nationalparks, die wir bis jetzt sehen durften 🏔️
Yosemite liegt in der kalifornischen Sierra Nevada und ist berühmt für seine spektakulären Landschaften, Wasserfälle und atemberaubende Aussichtspunkte, die "Feuerfälle" im Februar, seine alten Riesenmammutbäume, tiefe Täler und die markanten Granitberge von El Capitan und Half Dome.
Allein schon in den Nationalpark einzufahren ist ein Erlebnis für sich und nimmt einen von Anfang an komplett in seinen Bann.
Ein Traum für Naturliebhaber, Wanderer und ein Mekka für Kletterer.

Unser erster Weg führte uns ins Besucherzentrum, um uns einen Sticker für unsere Sammlung zu kaufen und uns Informationen einzuholen. Der gesamte Nationalpark ist logistisch so schlau vernetzt, dass man sogar mit Shuttlebussen ganz entspannt alles erkunden kann - klingt jetzt erstmal nach Touristenfalle, war aber sogar entspannter und einfacher als sich mit eigenem Gefährt fortzubewegen. & einige Dinge kann man auch einfach zu Fuß entdecken.
Zahlreiche Aussichtspunkte entlang des Tals ermöglichen verschiedene Perspektiven auf die beeindruckende Naturwunder.

Eines dieser Wunder sind die Yosemite Falls, der drittgrößte Wasserfall der USA. Das Wasser stürzt dort 740 Meter in die Tiefe und ist, zum Vergleich mit einem Erlebnis am Anfang unserer Kanadareise, zehnmal so hoch wie die Niagarafälle.
Wir haben uns zum `Misttrail´ aufgemacht und sind entlang des Vernal Falls an die Spitze dieses Wasserfalls gewandert & geklettert. Der Name dieses Wanderwegs kommt davon, dass je nach Wetter- und Windlage der Weg durch den Nebel (engl. mist) des Flusses bedeckt wird und Wanderer oft völlig durchnässt. Wir blieben größtenteils trocken, allerdings ist uns etwas Besonderes passiert. Nicht lange nach unserem Einstieg in den Wanderpfad ist auch ein Ranger hochgestiegen und hat hinter uns & noch ein paar anderen Menschen den Wanderweg für die Winterzeit geschlossen. Wir waren sozusagen mit einer der letzten Personen, die die Chance hatten diesen Pfad für diese Saison überhaupt zu wandern - Glück gehabt, und dies war schon ein cooles Gefühl! :)
Die ganze Wanderung war einfach nur irre schön, mit Mittagspause und selbstgemachten Nudelsalat direkt am Wasserfall und immer wieder wechselnden Szenerien. Oben am Gipfel zeigte sich der erste Schnee und Eis, während sich uns ein Naturpanorama eröffnete.

Wir besuchten noch den bekannten Tunnel View, wanderten zum Fuß des El Capitan und schauten ehrfürchtig hinauf.
Alles in allem war dieser Ausflug in den Yosemite Nationalpark ein unvergessliches Abenteuer und einer unserer Topfavoriten! Wir können diese Gefühle gar nicht wirklich in Worte fassen, sind uns aber sicher, dass jeder, der schonmal dort war oder dort noch hinkommen wird, sofort versteht was wir meinen.

...just before Christmas, we return to nature and to the heart of one of the most impressive national parks - Yosemite!
Many of you have probably heard about it and seen pictures, some may even have been there.

We were able to enjoy this natural setting for two days and wow, was it beautiful and impressive!
Yosemite is somehow spectacular in a different way and, to start with, clearly one of our favorites of all the national parks we have been able to see so far 🏔️
Yosemite is located in California's Sierra Nevada and is famous for its stunning landscapes, waterfalls and breathtaking viewpoints, the “firefalls” in February, its ancient giant sequoias, deep valleys and the striking granite mountains of El Capitan and Half Dome.
Just driving into the national park is an experience in itself and completely captivates you right from the start.
A dream for nature lovers, hikers and a mecca for climbers.

Our first stop was at the visitor center to buy a sticker for our collection and get some information. The entire national park is logistically so cleverly connected that you can even use shuttle buses to explore everything in a relaxed manner - sounds like a tourist trap at first, but it was even more relaxed and easier than getting around in our own vehicle. & some things can also be discovered on foot.
Numerous viewpoints along the valley offer different perspectives on the impressive natural wonders.

One of these wonders is Yosemite Falls, the third largest waterfall in the USA. The water there plunges 740 meters into the depths and is ten times as high as Niagara Falls, compared to an experience at the beginning of our trip to Canada (if you remeber 😉).
We set off on the 'Misttrail' and hiked & climbed along Vernal Falls to the top of this waterfall. The name of this trail comes from the fact that depending on the weather and wind conditions, the trail is covered in mist from the river, often soaking hikers completely. We stayed dry for the most part, but something special happened to us. Not long after we started the trail, a ranger hiked up as well and closed the trail for the winter season behind us & a few other people. We were one of the last people to have the chance to hike this trail for this season - lucky us, and such a cool feeling! :)
The whole hike was just insanely beautiful, with a lunch break and homemade pasta salad right next to the waterfall and ever-changing scenery. The first snow and ice appeared at the top, while a natural panorama opened up before us.

We also visited the famous Tunnel View, hiked to the foot of El Capitan and looked up in awe.
All in all, this trip to Yosemite National Park was an unforgettable adventure and one of our top favorites! We can't really put these feelings into words, but we're sure that anyone who has ever been there or will ever go there will immediately understand what we mean.
