Aumont-Aubroc

A quiet 15 km walk with a nice visit at the church in the Village Square. My phone is on low battery and so am I.

I had a lot of protein with my breakfast at the Gîte. My meals don’t seem to be sticking with me. I was hungry halfway out of town.

I stopped at Les Estreets and I had a cappuccino with crème brûlée. I know not a very good choice for a long hike, but I have to say I enjoyed it.

I was so hungry when I arrived at Aumont-Aubrac that I searched out the first boulangerie I could find. I was going to settle for an old friend like quiche Lorraine, but for some reason, I changed my mind to order a Fiand Viande. It’s the flakiest little Pastry with meat filling. I had a blueberry lemonade with it. I ate it standing outside the boulangerie. I was so happy. It feels a little bit like a Maine here. I’ve had a lot of food with blueberries (les myrtilles) and lots of good hardy food. The local specialty for potatoes is crazy elastic version of mashed potatoes. I’m hoping it’s on the menu at my Gîte tonight.

Early to bed tonight. I have 27 km to cover tomorrow. It’s supposed to be easy hiking, but it’s still 27 km. The day after that, we break 30 km and that’s gonna be hard hiking. I’m hoping I’m gonna get in shape right quick.Læs mere
