    Day 14

    October 12, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Even though we had a small bed, we still managed to sleep okay. Our room is located right near the dining room, so after a decent breakfast, we went out to do some sightseeing. We have been to San Francisco many times before, but hadn't seen the Painted Ladies, so we walked to see these nearby historic houses. There was a dog park across the street so we were treated to a view of the city, canine companionship and some wonderful photo opportunities.

I suggested visiting Golden Gate Park which was easy to reach by bus. After hearing a lecture about local real estate from a somewhat nutty lady resident, we boarded the bus for the trip west. Ted suggested getting off the bus at a particular stop which wasn't quite as close to the park as we'd have liked. We eventually found the entrance and walked through the park, although we mainly just saw the Windmill before heading back to the Castro.

We had good memories of a Japanese restaurant we had visited on a previous trip to San Francisco, so we went there again for lunch today. Unluckily the prices aren't as low as they were when we first visited! We had a pleasant walk through the Castro before heading back for a nap. Dinner wasn't too expensive as I had a supermarket pasta salad before we went out for a few drinks. Tomorrow is our big flight home!
