    PIEDRA PARADA!!!

    15–19 oct. 2023, Argentine ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Piedra Parada is a canyon in the middle of the desert... there is nothing, apart from a campsite and tons of climbable rock. The famous Petzl rock trip went there in 2012 (that's how Mark learned about it), basically a bunch of climbers go somewhere and bolt/put up new climbing routes in a fairly new climbing sector. Look it up on Youtube: PETZL ROCTRIP ARGENTINA 2012 https://youtu.be/QllWNEGBKic?si=gjgdwvaijiZNx2OQ
Well, we ended up driving over a dirt road for 100km with our trusted Fiat Cronos, and ended up in this beautiful place for 4 days. Insanely cold nights at the beginning (0/ -1 degrees), and 35 degrees by the time we left - I guess that's a typical desert climate.
We met a young Chilean couple who we climbed with for a day, who own a climbing gym in Chile Chico, a town in the South.
Both Mark and I had eaten something dodgy a few days before and so the first two days we were VERY happy about the toilet conveniently located in the middle of the canyon.
