Unbelievable war museum. So well done. It will take many posts to share my photos and experience from here. Each place we stop I wish I had more time to explore.
The British 6th Airborne Division landed gliders near this bridge in near silence on June 5, 1944. Each glider held 28 soldiers.
Earnest Casorso from Kelowna is buried in this cemetary as well as the youngest Canadian soldier, Gerard Dore. We have been doing charcoal rubs of many headstones.
Built by King Louis XIV.
Every single night at 8pm they do a remembrance ceremony at the Menin Gate to honor the thousands and thousands of fallen soldiers. Thier names cover the monument.
German Cemetery in Belgium. Very different in appearance. 50,000+ men buried here.
