• Imperial Palace and Ueno Park

    The Imperial Palace East gardens occupy the site of the Edo era palace that burned down. A few sections still stand, and it was a really interesting half day. Lunch was a meat and egg supermarket bento box.

    The afternoon was spent in Ueno Park with swan boats and a visit to the National Museum. I was flagging, and revitalised with iced matcha latte.  After that I wandered through Ueno's noisy market-like shopping street and meandered back to the hostel by Metro.
