Rockhampton Airport

My once in a life time trip to the Holy Land has officially begun!! I just checked in at the Rockhampton airport for my flight to Brisbane.
Night in Brisbane

Well I made it to BRISBANE. Spending the night at the Ibis Brisbane Airpot Hotel. Look at the view!
Brisbane International

Nearly boarding our first flight to Hong Kong. I haven’t flown internationally before so I’m both nervous and excited at the same time.
Hong Kong International Airport

A healthy 7 hour layover at Hong Kong international. Gave me a chance to test my travel card and see if it works. This is a massive airport!
Tel Aviv Airport

We have finally made it to Tel Aviv after 30 hours of flying. Let our pilgrimage begin!!
Jaffa

Shepherd's Field

Today we started with a visit to the Shepherd’s field where the angels came and told the shepherds about the arrival of Jesus. We celebrated mass in a cave under the field to commemorate thisもっと詳しく
Jerusalem

After having mass at the Shepherd’s field we then visited the Israel Museum. Here we viewed the model of Old Jerusalem which was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide explained how Jerusalem hasもっと詳しく
Ein Karem

Today we visited a lovely little town in Jerusalem called Ein Karem. Here we visited two churches one was the Church of the Visitation which is built on the location where Mary Visited her cousinもっと詳しく
Bethlehem

Our last adventure for today was going back to visit the Church of the Nativity which is exactly where Jesus was born. It was a stunning Church with Lots of Icons, religious artifacts and paintings.もっと詳しく
Caesarea

Day 3 of my Holy Land Pilgrimage began with a 2 hour bus trip to Caesarea which was run by King Herod back In Jesus’ time. Here I saw some amazing Roman ruins such as an amphitheater, hippodromeもっと詳しく
Mount Carmel

Next we went to Mt Carmel which was the place where the prophet Elijah removed all the gods of Baal which was a Canaanite faith.
Haifa

For lunch today we stopped in the German District within Haifa (very modern city in Israel). It was a stunning little area which some great architecture. The food was amazing!
Akko or Acre

Finally today we stopped at a place called Acre which was the site of the old Crusader tunnels and buildings. This was a fantastic experience and I learnt a lot about the three crusades to the holyもっと詳しく
The 1st Century Boat

What an amazing site! We just viewed a 1st Century boat which would have been the one Jesus would have used during his teachings. Such a elaborate process to get it ready for showing.
Caesarea Phillippi

Our first site today was Caesarea Phillippi which was where Jesus asked his disciples “Who do they say I am?” It was here Peter responded with “the messiah”. Jesus also gave Peter the title ofもっと詳しく
Lake Galilee

Oh my! We just all celebrated mass on Lake Galilee. It was such a spiritual experience to see the lands in which Jesus did all his work and teachings. An amazing opportunity!
Peter's Primancy

Here is the place where Peter was asked by Jesus 3 times if he loved Him. It is also the place where Jesus ordained Peter at the first Pope of the Catholic faith.
Capernaum

This was the place where Jesus spent 3 years teaching in the Synagogue. Here we looked at the remains of St Peter’s house as well as the Synagogue where Jesus would have spent a lot of his time.もっと詳しく
Cana

We visited The Sanctuary of our lord’s first miracle, which was the place where he turned water in to wine at the Wedding of Cana. The married couples in our pilgrimage group renewed their vowsもっと詳しく
Church of the Annunciation

After visiting the Church of Cana we drove in to Nazareth which is where Jospeh and Mary spent most of their lives. Here we visited the Church of the Annunciation which is where the Angel appeared toもっと詳しく
Church of St Joseph

This is the church where they believe that Joseph lived as he couldn’t live with Mary yet due to her being pregnant. Underneath this church was remains of a 1st century baptismal font.
Mary of Nazareth International Centre

This centre was fantastic and was dedicated to the miracle that is Mary. We viewed a movie that had been created to portray the story of Jesus’ life and how Mary was connected to that. We alsoもっと詳しく
