• SB Day 10: Brønnøysund Bound

    Leaving Sandnessjøen, Mui went down to the cabin for a nap … I set myself up at ‘my table’ in the Havblikk Lounge, going outside whenever something caught my eye.

    I was especially hoping to see the Seven Sisters Mountain Range … which is associated with a legend. Trolls, of course.

    The short story is that seven troll sisters took advantage of their father sleeping one night to escape his watchful eye. What they didn’t know was that Vågekallen was lying in wait for them, hoping to catch one of the girls — if not more. What followed was a pursuit with other trolls joining in to rescue them. Unfortunately, they all forgot to keep an eye on the rising sun. And as dawn broke, they were all turned to stone.

    As it turns out, the peaks were mostly hidden by clouds, so all we got was a peek-a-boo view.

    At one point, we had beautiful blue skies … but only in one direction … and only for a short time. But seeing the bright scenery did wonders and elevated everyone’s mood.
