Kyoto - What is the name of the temple?

What a day...

The plan for today was to visit Kyoto. We knew that there will be a lot of tourists in Kyoto so we planned to visit the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Temple) first (opened at 9am). The problem in Kyoto is that most sights are reachable by bus only so we need to plan about 40 minutes from Kyoto station to the Kinkakuji Temple. We thought our plan was good and we will be there in time...
But once we were at Kyoto station we took the bus to the Ginkakuji Temple on the other side of the city. After 40 minutes in the bus we noticed our mistake. Really bad, almost the same name of the temple but on the other side of the city. We took the next bus to the Kinkakuji Temple but when we finally got there (at about 10am) it was crowded with people including lots of tour busses, it was really no fun.
Nevertheless the temple itself was great, but you need to be there first. After the golden temple we visited some other sights like Nishiki Market, Gion and several other temples.
It doesn't matter where we went today, every single place was crowded of people. I have never seen such a touristic city before.

What we have learned for tomorrow: Get up much earlier and take the correct bus. We will try to be back in Kyoto for sunrise tomorrow morning and see some more places before all other tourists are coming.

Was für ein Tag heute in Kyoto!

Wir hatten einen perfekten Plan für den Tag. Wir wussten, dass heute sehr viele Touristen in Kyoto sein werden (Kirschblüte & Fruhlingsferien). Wir wollten daher den berühmten Goldenen Tempel zu erst besichtigen und zur Öffnung um 9 Uhr vor den Toren stehen. Naja es kam anders...

Mit dem Zug waren wir (natürlich) pünktlich um 8 Uhr morgens in Kyoto. In Kyoto mussten wir dann auf den Bus umsteigen, da der Goldene Tempel (offizieller Name: Kinkakuji Tempel) wie die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Kyoto nur mit dem Bus zu erreichen sind. Die Fahrt sollte je nach Verkehr ca. 40 Minuten dauern. Leider haben wir uns jedoch für einen Bus zum Ginkakuji Tempel entschieden, der im Osten der Stadt liegt und nicht im Westen wie der Kinkakuji Tempel. Als wir nach 40 Minuten Fahrt im Bus unseren Fehler bemerkten war es natürlich zu spät! Bis wir dann mit einem anderen Bus den Kinkakuji Tempel erreicht haben war es dann schon 10 Uhr. Natürlich waren wir nicht mehr die ersten. Es war voll, so voll, dass man komplett um den Tempel geschoben wurde und sich einen Fotoplatz in der ersten Reihe erkämpfen musste. Aber wir waren es ja selber Schuld ;) Der Tempel an sich ist auch wirklich schön!
Nach dem Tempel haben wir dann noch ein paar andere Sehenswürdigkeiten abgeklappert, aber alle waren so voll wie die Schildergasse am letzten Shopping-Tag vor Weihnachten. Es hat heute wirklich keinen Spaß gemacht durch Kyoto zu laufen! Dennoch sind uns ein paar schöne Fotos gelungen... Und überall diese Kirschblüte ;)

Was lernen wir daraus:
1. Kyoto zur Kirschblüte ist schön, aber nicht empfehlenswert wenn man sich die Sehenswürdigkeiten in Ruhe ansehen möchte.
2. Steh früh auf!
3. Nimm nicht den falschen Bus

Morgen planen wir bereits zum Sonnenaufgang in Kyoto zu sein um vielleicht ein paar Stunden ohne Menschenmassen zu haben. Ich weiß auch (hoffentlich) schon wie wir fahren müssen...
