Okefenokee Swamp - GA

Rented a motorboat to go back out into the swamp. It's a bit different from the tour as you're much closer to the dark water. Cooler mornings and there's a mist over the water as we head out down Billy's Lake to Billy's Island where we moored up & hiked a short trail. Billy Bowlegs a Seminole Indian took refuge here after a battle with government troops. There used to be a logging camp on the island in the early 1900s & around 600 people lived there. Again saw lots of birds & gators, a wildlife paradise !!!Meer informatie
