Mammoth Cave Historic Tour

10:00 tour, mid 70sF above ground it's a cool 54F in the cave. We walked 2 miles along passageways that rivers used to flow, through huge dome rooms, up and down stairs, through narrow Fat Man's Misery, low Tall Man's Misery and past the Bottomless Pit. Mammoth Dome was impressive with columns which reminded us of Arbroath Abbey ruins, the climb up was 155 stairs, strange to think we were at the top of this at the sink hole yesterday. Interesting to see the writings on the wall and ceilings of the past people who had explored and worked the caves with only reed torches for light.Lue lisää
