• Seattle and the Masks

    A nearly empty flight and mountain views reminded me of how much fun it is to travel. I know it shouldn’t, but the sticking out noses and ill-fitting masks surprise me. What is up with that? I’m waiting my 10-hour layover at a Radisson steps from the airport to avoid people.

    It has been two years, to the day, since I left the continent, and the adventure part is beginning to creep in pushing out the fear and leaving my home behind for a while.

    I have set up my trip with a focus on connecting with others - my sister and brother in Boston, Gail in Costa Rica, and my host family. They are Ana, her mother, and her two young adult children. I’m looking forward to a full house as a radical change of pace for me.

    And now we wait.
