A quick 4 night getaway to Moana over Australia Day, took the next Friday and Monday off to make it a super long weekend.
Booked in at the beautiful Moana Shores Caravan Park.
Arrived about 12:30 and set up.
Had some lunch in the van and then went for a walk down to the Moana beach. It was absolutely packed. Cars were allowed to drive on in one area and we think it stretched for about 850 metres long and the cars were 4-5 deep. Counted 38 jet skis and many more kayaks and paddle boards.
Later in the afternoon we drove to Port Noarlunga and walked the jetty and beach there, not quite as busy but still hard to get a park.
Back to the caravan park for dinner.Leggi altro

Glorious day at Port Noarlunga

Spent the day at Port Noarlunga beach.
Was an absolutely glorious day. 33 degrees and not a breath of wind.
Set up our beach shelter and then tried out the paddle board. Was lots of fun. I used the paddle board and Rob walked out to the end of the jetty and jumped in for a snorkel.
Water was lovely with the visibility improving as the day went.
Took our lunch with us and had it on the beach.
Did a couple of nice beach walks in-between being in the water.
Back to the van for dinner.
Last night Rob got the new starlink set up and working with great speeds so very happy with that, will be great for our big trip.
Went back to Moana Beach for sunset tonight, really lovely.Leggi altro

Sellicks Beach

A wonderful 6km walk along Sellicks Beach. Having never been before I was amazed at the cliff facing and natural caves of Sellicks Beach.
Really pretty. The day was over cast and probably 5-8 degrees cooler than yesterday but such a lovely day for a beach walk.
The colours and formations of the cliffs were so pretty. Really enjoyed the walk. Again another beach where cars could drive on and plenty had taken advantage of the day.
After our walk we started to head towards Myponga beach, but a shower of rain had us return to the caravan as we had left the hatches open.
No worries as no rain had entered and not alot of rain around. Lunch in the van before another walk on Moana beach.

Moana to port Noarlunga walk

Very overcast and drizzly morning, played around at the caravan for the morning.
This afternoon walked 14km round trip from Moana beach to Port Noarlunga. Had a coffee at Port Noarlunga before returning.
Was a lovely walk. Overcast all afternoon but about 22 degrees and no wind really.
Saw a pod of about 3-4 dolphins on our way back.Leggi altro

Started packing up to head home this morning and as Rob was checking around the caravan he noticed a large gash/tear in one of our caravan tyres. Very good pick up by him as it looked close to blowing. So he did a quick change to the spare before we headed off.
We had also been having problems with our water pump for the last few trips as it had developed a very slow dripping leak, but this trip it became a real problem and became a major water leak, filling the cavity under the fridge where the pump is housed with water. We called Dario's and asked if they had one in stock that we could purchase for Rob to replace as we couldn't wait for when the van was booked in for work in March.
They had one there, so we picked it up on the way home and Rob swapped them over this evening when we got home.
Also got the spare tyre replaced late this afternoon.
Caravan all fixed up and ready for our next trip away to Point Turton on Saturday for a week.Leggi altro
