Some of the icebergs from Jokulsarlon lagoon wash up onto the beach with the tide once reaching the sea. These beautiful glittering formations contrast beautifully against the black beach.

We had a relaxing morning at the Skaftafell camping ground as our Caving tour did not begin until 10.30 am. We had a great guide, Taris, who lead us safely walking up the glacier (wearing crampons) to Czytaj więcej

Mt Krafla & Krafla Power Plant

Next stop is Mt Krafla that last erupted in 1984. Magma can be found just 2.1 km below the Earth's surface at this location. It's an ideal location for the power plant located close by.

We stopped for coffee at the cafe that was used in the Walter Mitty movie as the Pappa Jons Pizza Bar. It had photos around the window showing how the cafe was transformed.
