Puerto Escondido - dolphins and tacos

A final wrap-up on our stay in Puerto Escondido - a sea safari followed by a fish taco night. After an hour of hurtling through the ocean at breakneck speed, I was ready to be sick, but then we spotted a pod of about 100 spinner dolphins, followed by a turtle and jumping manta rays. As ever, my handy goggles meant we could jump into the water and see the dolphins swimming next to us, which was really special.

Leaving this beach resort with mixed feelings in all honesty. We're mostly sad to say goodbye to our friends @livandjltravel, who we met by chance on a taco tour in CDMX. We essentially followed them here hehe and got to spend most days together exploring and chatting about life in Scotland and South Africa. They've really made our experience in Mexico so far, and there were real-life tears saying adiós 🥹 But also, by the end, we're happy to move on as we didn't love Puerto Escondido. The locals were not hugely friendly, and it's the first time we felt unsafe at times. So overall, it's a beautiful destination, but we're not sure we'd recommend it.Read more
