Once voted one of the safest cities in the Americas, Mérida locals are so proud of their peaceful and successful home. It's got a real charm to it and is as colourful and pretty as we've come to expect when visiting other similar places in the area. We're a big fan of walking tours, so needless to say, we did another one here and learnt more about the Maya history and that apparently it's so safe because many cartel family members live here...

Photos taken over a few days, but you wouldn't be able to tell, as Señor Watt wore one outfit the whole time. He's very much in his football shirt era, where I've been forced to go to sports shop after sports shop to pick up obscure local club tops (which he'll then pretend are real when he gets home obviously). In fairness, it's probably quite a good idea because in our experience, walking anywhere in the Yucatan heat means you're immediately dripping in sweat. Lovely.Read more
