Truck maintenance is paramount to making your vehicles last. My oil change came due while headed to Arizon. Found a dealership in Lordsburg, NM and got the maintenance done. This town has seen better days. I bet it was an amazing place in its hay-day.Leggi altro

Traveling To The Queen's Ranson.

Spent the night in Tuson after a very long day of traveling. The plan was to go to a campground and use the rooftop tent. Unfortunately, the campgrounds were all full, and the freezing temps forced me to sleep in my truck with occasionally running the heater.

The desert is a magical place, especially when covered in Saguaro Cactus. It is even more magical when covered in a rare white powder. This was the highlight of the driving portion of my trip to the Queen's Ransom.Leggi altro

After existing, the more heavily populated areas, things started to change. No more pavement. The trails were amazing, the views stunning and the experience everything I could ask for.

Tonto National Forest

This is nothing like home. Talk of a forest means massive oaks, cypress, pine, and other native trees, typically between 40 and 60 feet tall. Here in the Tonto National Forest, you will not find anything of the sort. There are some amazing cactus, but the aired environment stands in stark contrast the home.Leggi altro

Day Two - Sick for most the day.

Day two of the Queen's Ransom was far more challenging than it should have been. After loosing my phone, backtracking to find it, and running out of water for a short period, I made it to camp late with a significant amount of extra miles. I became ill overnight and could not settle my stomach. The going was tough and slow all the way past lunch. Towards the evening, things improved, but I was far behind schedule. And catching up was an impossible task. I made it into camp well after dark and after eating, crashed for the night.Leggi altro
