    Kathmandu's Durant Square was only of the cultural hubs most affected by the earthquake in April of this year. In one of the below photos, you can see the before and after comparison. However, even with many of the most iconic structures reduced the rubble, the square is still bustling with tour guides and trinket-salespeople ready to talk your ear off about the cultural history of the region. Nepal's three Durbar squares are all former homes of the Nepalese royal families and are incredibly unique in their incorporation of both Buddhist and Hindu architecture.
