    Die Reise geht weiter

    December 6, 2018 in Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

    Mein letzter Tag in Nepal ist angebrochen.
    Gestern und heute gab es nochmal Momos und Dal bhat zum Abschied. Inzwischen traue ich mich auch in versteckte Dachterrassen- und Hinterhof Restaurants, die ein Tourist auf den ersten Blick vermutlich nicht findet. Ich habe sie in meinen ersten Tagen jedenfalls nicht wahrgenommen. Hier geht es sehr nepalesisch zu und vorallem ist es sehr günstig (-;

    Ich bin bereit für den Abflug nach Australien zu meiner lieben Freundin Kerstin und ihrem Mann Dave. Ich freue mich auf die Zeit und auf den Sonnenschein.

    March 22 in Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

    Wir sind gesterm in Nepal angekommen und freuen uns darauf, unser Visum für 30 Tage voll und ganz auszunutzen. Heute streifen wir ziemlich orientierungslos durch Kathmandus bunte und chaotische Strassen und Gassen und genießen das köstliche nepalesische Essen. Eine Wohltat nach drei Wochen Thai-Food;-)Read more

    Klangschalen Shopping in Kathmandu

    December 5, 2018 in Nepal ⋅ 🌫 16 °C

    Ich bin zurück in Kathmandu, der Hauptstadt von Nepal.
    Inzwischen ist die Hauptsaison vorbei und es sind deutlich weniger Touristen unterwegs hier.
    Außerdem ist es wirklich kalt geworden, ca.10 - 12 Grad nachts. Das Hotel liegt in einem schattigen Innenhof, so dass es wirklich sehr kalt ist in dem Zimmer. Ich schlafe mit Jacke und 2 Decken, verlasse das Hotel morgens mit Daunenjacke und dicken Wandersocken. Tagsüber wärmt mich die Sonne noch bei angenehmen 19 Grad,T-shirt-Wetter. Das tut gut.

    Heute habe ich mit Ausdauer, Gefühl und Bedacht meine 7 Ckakra Klangschalen ausgewählt und gekauft. Ich habe auf alte, handgemachte bowls gesetzt. Alten Klangschalen sagt man besondere spirituelle Energien nach.
    Ich kann also zuhause direkt loslegen mit der Entspannungstherapie oder auch singing bowl healing. Anmeldungen nehme ich ab sofort an (-;

    Namasté Nepal!

    March 19, 2018 in Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

    Our arrival to Nepal was quite overwhelming, it felt like entering a new world after such a long time in quasi uninhabited Oman. Flying has probably become a too fast way to change countries for us. It took us three hours then to get our bikes ready - in front of the airport building and under the wide eyes of a throng of rubbernecks :)

    Cycling into the city was intense, chaotic left-hand traffic, so many people, so many colors, colorful women (again at last!) everywhere! There were so many impressions hailing down on us, the social and environmental issues directly jumping into our eyes (and noses). We immediately knew it: A new adventure would begin here, in Kathmandu, and we’re super excited about the next weeks, Namasté!

    Morning of bliss at Dwarika's Resort

    October 18, 2017 in Nepal ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

    Starting with sun rise, then yoga followed by breakfast on terrace with stunning views. Time in the Himalayan Salt House then the Crystal House. Meandered around the stunning grounds before resting by the infinity pool. Photos don't to justice to this amazing place.

    March 28, 2018 in Nepal ⋅ 🌫 20 °C

    We stayed at Pushkar Shah’s house (for 10 days) which is full of cyclists throughout the year. He’s been on a mystical journey for peace around the world with his bicycle, promotes cycling and fights for bicycle lanes nowadays. There were many other crazy riders too and it was great to spend time together and share experiences.

    We went around a lot, guided and unguided, and there are temples, stupas and other holy places everywhere and in all sizes, in the trees, in the walls, in the pavement, at the surrounding hills. We watched the cremations taking place at some temples next to the rivers - with very mixed feelings.
    We visited one of the holiest pilgrims sites for Buddhists in the world - the Boudhanath stupa and the holy atmosphere there are mesmerizing.

    It’s easy to notice all the opulent dogs, pigeons and monkeys who love to stay around the temples because the people usually offer sacrifice in form of rice, biscuits and other sweets - and feeding them is positive for the karma :)

    And: Fit in cycling does not mean fit in yoga... We used our lazy time to do some yoga lessons in the mornings. We found an ashram round the corner where the locals go and enjoyed this authentic experience although it was painful during the yoga and painful the days after (every little muscle hurt!). But again and again a perfect start into the day before breakfast.

    There are also some good news for our further journey (and this is also the main reason why we stayed that long in this crazy city): After 4 visits to the Indian embassy we eventually got our visa, yeah!

    Nepal - just... wow

    September 6, 2017 in Nepal ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

    Flight from KL to Nepal with a lot of people, that have apparently never used an aircraft before. We left late, because 80% of the other guests needed to take selfies with the plane! Kathmandu is crazy. Our host, Damodar, is very hospitable and takes good care of us. First walk was to Pashupatinath-tempel - we watched three burning bodies, a lot of holy people, monkeys, holy cows and street dogs. Also just walking in the streets is an interesting task - what a different world... btw: the time difference to Germany is 3:45 hoursRead more
