      Letzter tag vor der Farm

      Deutsch:
      Heute hatte ich wieder einen wirklich tollen Tag. Wie immer habe ich mit einem Kaffee gestartet danach bin ich in den jungle wandern gegangen. Dabei habe ich verschiedene Vögel gesehen Schmetterlinge und auch wieder einen Varan, den ich tatsächlich relativ lange beobachten konnte. Irgendwann bin ich dann zu einem sehr schönen Aussichtspunkt gekommen. Dort habe ich ausgeruht und etwas gegessen. Ich bin am Ende noch durch ein Villenviertel gelaufen das war wirklich beeindruckend. Diese schönen Häuser inmitten der ganzen Dschungel pflanzen war schon echt toll zu sehen als ich wieder zurück beim Auto war bin ich Angeln gefahren. Das habe ich relativ lange probiert. Konnte heute aber leider nichts fangen. Am Abend habe ich dann noch einen Film gekuckt und bin früh ins Bett, da ich am nächsten Tag zur Farm muss.

      I had another really great day today. As usual, I started with a coffee and then went hiking in the jungle. I saw various birds, butterflies and another varan, which I was actually able to observe for quite a long time. At some point I came to a very nice viewpoint. I rested there and ate something. I ended up walking through a residential area, which was really impressive. It was really great to see these beautiful houses in the middle of all the jungle plants when I got back to the car and went fishing. I tried that for a relatively long time.       Deutsch:
      Mein Tag startete wie immer mit einem leckeren Frühstück als Nächstes in die Stadt, um mir einige Sachen zu kaufen. Ich habe mir zwei Hemden ein Pulli und zwei Arbeitsshirts gekauft. Danach hab ich noch mal kurz bei der Touristeninformation vorbeigeguckt, um einfach Interesse am Job zu zeigen. Als das erledigt war, hatte ich einen Termin beim Autoschrauber um mein Reifen wechseln zu lassen. Da gab es leider schlechte Neuigkeiten, ich muss die hinteren beiden jetzt wechseln und die vorderen beiden werden auch bald erneuert werden müssen. Nichtsdestotrotz waren die zwei junges beide sehr nett und lustigerweise aus Stuttgart. Danach bin ich zum Mittagessen in die Stadt gegangen. Nachmittag habe ich mich mit zwei Freunden in einem Hostel getroffen, da es dort eine happy Hour gibt, bedeutet fünf Dollar pro Liter Bier, dort haben wir uns ein Bier geteilt und danach bin ich Angeln gefahren. Heute konnte ich wieder drei Haie fangen, was mich natürlich sehr gefreut hat

      My day started as usual with a delicious breakfast. Next, I went into town to buy a few things. I bought two shirts, a sweater and two work shirts. After that, I popped into the tourist information office to show my interest in the job. Once that was done, I had an appointment with a car mechanic to have my tires changed. Unfortunately, there was bad news: I now have to change the two rear tires and the front two will also have to be replaced soon. Nevertheless, the two young guys were both very nice and, funnily enough, from Stuttgart. Afterwards I went into town for lunch. In the afternoon I met up with two friends in a hostel, as there is a happy hour there, which means five dollars a liter of beer, we shared a beer there and then I went fishing.       Probearbeiten

      Deutsch:
      Als Erstes gab es ein Frühstück am wunderschönen Strand in Elis Beach. Danach ging es für mich zum Probearbeiten in einer Touri-Tour Booking Firma. Ich war dafür zuständig an der Tür Leute anzusprechen und quasi anzuwerben. Sie sollten nach einem Gespräch mit mir in den Laden gelotst werden, wo sie von den anderen Mitarbeitern übernommen werden, die sie über die Aktivitäten hier beraten. Ich muss sagen, der Job gefällt mir gut, da ich viel Kontakt zu anderen Leuten habe und meine Englischkenntnisse verbessern kann. Das Probearbeiten ging ungefähr Stunden 1,5h bin ich noch etwas durch die Stadt gelaufen und bin danach zu einem Jetty Angeln gefahren. Einige andere waren auch erfolgreich, ich hatte leider kein Glück. Aus diesem Grund bin ich weiter zu meinem Camping Spot gefahren.
      , hab mein Zelt aufgebaut und bin direkt an den Strand um weiter zu Angeln. Jetzt hat auch ich Glück. Ich konnte drei Haie fangen 1 Hammerhai und 2 Riffhaie.

      First, I had breakfast on the beautiful beach in Elis Beach. After that, I went for a trial run at a tour-tour booking company. I was responsible for approaching people at the door and recruiting them, so to speak. After an interview with me, they were to be guided into the store where they would be taken over by the other employees who would advise them on the activities here. I have to say that I like the job because I have a lot of contact with other people and can improve my English. The trial work lasted about 1.5 hours, I walked around the town a bit and then went fishing on a jetty. Some others were also successful, but unfortunately I wasn't lucky. For this reason, I drove on to my camping spot.

      Letzter Tag der Arbeitssuche

      Deutsch:
      Heute war der letzte Tag, an dem ich mich ausschließlich um Jobs gekümmert habe. Morgens muss ich erst mal mein Zelt noch etwas nass zusammenpacken da es wieder nachts geregnet hatte. Die nächsten Tage sollen aber wieder super Wetter werden. Dementsprechend tut es der Sache überhaupt kein Dämpfer. In cairns angekommen habe ich mich dann für eine ganze Weile in ein Café gesetzt und habe eines der besten belegten Brötchen gegessen, die ich jemals hatte. Ich habe dort dann etwas an meinen Bewerbungen gefeilt und meine RAS (das ist eine Lizenz zum Ausschenken von Alkohol in Australien) gemacht. Als das Café schließt wollte, bin ich in die Stadt gegangen, um einzukaufen und war noch etwas bummeln. Im Anschluss bin ich noch zu einem Camping Store gefahren, um mich über Möglichkeiten der Zeltimprägnierung zu informieren. Als ich auch das erledigt hatte wollte ich eigentlich ganz gerne Angeln gehen, nur leider war der Seegang noch etwas zu unruhig um Köderfische zu fangen. Also bin ich an meinen Schlafplatz am Strand gefahren. Dort habe ich einen kleinen Spaziergang gemacht und ein leckeres Reis Curry mit Hühnchen Mais und etwas Parmesan gekocht.

      Today was the last day on which I spent exclusively on jobs. In the morning I had to pack up my tent a bit wet as it had rained again during the night. But the next few days should be great weather again. So it doesn't put a damper on things at all. When I arrived in Cairns, I sat down in a café for a while and ate one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I then did some work on my applications and got my RAS (which is a license to serve alcohol in Australia). When the café was about to close, I went into town to do some shopping and stroll around. Afterwards, I went to a camping store to find out about tent waterproofing options. Once I'd done that too, I really wanted to go fishing, but unfortunately the swell was still a bit too rough to catch bait fish. So I drove to my sleeping place on the beach.       Zurück bei Ellis Beach

      Deutsch:
      Heute hatte ich einen tollen Tag. Mein Morgen habe ich wie die letzten Tage schon vor der Werkstatt im Industriegebiet verbracht habe meinen Kaffee getrunken und ein bisschen mit den Angestellten geschwatzt. Von denen habe ich tatsächlich auch ISO Matten und ein Vorzelt für mein Auto bekommen. Danach bin ich losgefahren, um ins Gym zu gehen. Im Anschluss daran war ich noch ein bisschen am Wasser um etwas zu dösen und hab den Plan gefasst etwas außerhalb von cairns zu schlafen. Also habe ich mir auf Google Maps ein schönes Ziel ausgesucht. Bin dorthin gefahren und haben etwas die Angel ins Wasser gehalten. Leider hat nichts gebissen. Da ich schon länger nicht mehr an meinem Lieblingsspot in der Nähe von Cairns gewesen bin (Alice beach) hab ich jetzt mich dazu entschlossen heute dorthin zu fahren. Auf dem Weg höre ich auf einmal ein Geräusch im Motorraum, halte also an und gucke nach und was soll ich sagen? Der zweite Kühler Schlauch ist auch geplatzt. Das ist erst mal nicht so tragisch und auch nicht so teuer aber natürlich trotzdem nervig. Also habe ich das Loch mit Panzerband geflickt und bin den restlichen Weg gefahren. Am Strand angekommen, habe ich mein Dachzelt aufgebaut, in dem ich seit einer Woche nicht mehr geschlafen habe. Danach habe ich auch dort noch mal ein wenig geangelt und am Abend noch einen Film geguckt

      I had a great day today. Like the last few days, I spent my morning in front of the workshop in the industrial estate, drinking my coffee and chatting a bit with the staff. They actually gave me ISO mats and an awning for my car. Then I drove off to go to the gym. Afterwards I went to the water to doze a bit and made a plan to sleep outside of Cairns. So I picked a nice destination on Google Maps. I drove there and put my fishing rod in the water. Unfortunately, nothing was biting. As I haven't been to my favorite spot near Cairns (Alice beach) for a while, I decided to go there today. On the way I suddenly hear a noise in the engine compartment, so I stop and have a look and what can I say? The second radiator hose has also burst. That's not so tragic at first and not so expensive, but of course it's still annoying. So I patched the hole with duct tape and drove the rest of the way.
