Hazeldean

From one day to another our whole plan has changed again. Actually we wanted to drive up the coast slowly and visit all the places we haven't seen so far. But then we found a job around 1000km north and we had only 48 hours to show up. So we travelled up north very fast, but now we have a job in a little oasis at the Haliday Bay Golf Resort. The name sounds fancy but it is not a big 5 star resort. It is very small and we have to take care of a small caravan park, some cabins, the bar and of course the golf course. We are surrounded by lots of wallabies, great nature, a beautiful beach and the Cape Hillsborough National Park is just 10 minutes away. Our new plan is now to stay here till the end of the next school holidays in October.

Mal wieder mussten wir unseren Plan die Küste von Queensland langsam zu entdecken verwerfen. Denn wir haben einen Job gefunden :) für den wir weitere 1000km fahren mussten. Da wir nur knapp 48h Zeit hatten mussten wir an vielen schönen Orten vorbei fahren ohne anzuhalten. Unser einziger Stop auf dem Weg haben wir in Rockhampton eingelegt um ein gutes Steak zu essen, denn Rockhampton gilt als die Hauptstadt der Viehzucht Australiens.

Die nächsten Wochen werden wir im Haliday Bay Golf Resort arbeiten und wohnen. Das Resort ist aber kein 5 Sterne Hotel, sondern eher ein Campingplatz mit ein paar Hütten, einer Bar und einem Golfplatz. Abends wimmelt es hier nur so von Wallabies und aus unserem Schlafzimmer hören wir die Wellen vom Meer - es könnte also schlimmer sein. Landschaftlich ist es traumhaft schön und warm ist es zum Glück auch wieder! Der nächste Supermarkt ist allerdings in Mackay - knapp 50km weit weg :D Dafür habe wir den Cape Hillsborough Nationalpark direkt vor der Tür.
Unser neuer Plan ist nun in der Haliday Bay bis zum Ende der nächsten Schulferien im Oktober zu bleiben.Read more
