Wochenende Rund ums Kangaroo Valley

Am 1. Oktoberwochenende wurde ich von einer australischen Freundin Wollongong, bzw ins Kangaroo Valley eingeladen. Wir haben uns am Leuchtturm von Wollongong getroffen. Sie hat mir anschließend einige spektakuläre Orte gezeigt. Es ging dabei zur Sea Cliff Bridge, eine spektakulären Straßenbrücke, zum Bald Hill Lookout und den beiden Wasserfällen Balmore und Fitzroy Falls. An den Balmore Falls hatte man zudem einen schönen Ausblick über das Tal. Zum Schluss haben wir uns noch die historische Hampden Bridge angeschaut.Read more

Pebbly Beach und Kangaroo Valley

Am Pebbly Beach sind wir früh nach dem Frühstück baden gegangen wo wir die ganzen Warnschilder endlich verstanden haben. Selbst wenn man Knietief im Wasser steht, kann es sein, dass man von einer Welle (die dann plötzlich bis zum Bauchnabel geht) umgehauen wird. Danach wird man schlimmsten Falles ins Meer gesogen, weshalb man definitiv immer im Wasser stehen und nicht schwimmen sollte. Gibt einen auf jeden Fall einen extra Adrenalin Kick beim “Baden” gehen.
Nach ein paar Strandstunden sind wir zu Kangaroo Valley gefahren wo wir etwas weiter weg nicht nur Kängurus sondern auch ganz viele wilde Wombats gesehen haben! Die süßen Fellknäuel haben wirklich Potenzial meine neuen Lieblingstiere zu werden 🥰
Eins ist sogar absichtlich sehr nah gekommen und eine Wombat Mutter mit ihrem Nachwuchs hat mich mit einem Baum verwechselt weswegen sie sich auch etwas zu nah an mich heran traute 😵‍💫😍
Momentan fahren wir (wieder) im Starkregen und Gewitter nach Sydney.Read more

Kangaroo Valley

A wonderful chance to meet up with Amanda, Leon, Flynn and Sophie while we are all travelling. Kangaroo Valley is sucha beautiful place with spacious campsites, a lovely river for kayaking, wombats and kangaroos aplenty and lots of sights to see in the area. The drive in was a bit hairy coming down the range from Bowral and we really had to crawl down and look after the brakes. I wasn't looking forward to the trip back up. We spent a fantastic few days with the kids exploring, kayaking, wombating and cooking. Lucky to have the opportunity to meet as they head south and we head north. It was hard to say goodbye.Read more

Unsere nächste Station ist Kangaroo Valley. Hier sehen wir die Hampton Bridge, die von Strafgefangenen erbaut wurde.
Weiters besichtigen wir ein Freilichtmuseum mit Häusern im Kolonialstil. Die Anlage liegt mitten im Regenwald, sodass auch ein Spaziergang Freude macht.
Am Abend sind wir wieder im Deutschen Klub essen.Read more

Kangaroo Valley avec Gaelle !

Coucou!
Voici un peu de mes nouvelles.
Tout d’abord je vais bien! Le temps est venteux ici mais le soleil est revenu donc on profite !
Aujourd’hui on part dans la campagne australienne, visiter une vieille ville datant de la conquête de l’Australie par les anglais : Kangaroo Valley.
C’est a 1:30 de chez moi, donc je vais chercher Gaelle à la gare et c’est parti!
On découvre des belles cascades, mais aussi de mignons petits animaux, un wombat et un bébé kangourou!
Ensuite, affamées on cherche un supermarché mais mission impossible.
Donc on finit juste par se balader dans une ville au bord de la mer que j’avais déjà visité avec Soso.
Bref une belle journée, il est 20:30 je vais clairement me coucher 🤣Read more

Day 4 - Forster to Kangaroo valley

Today we went through Sydney and it was quite stressful, we are not used to that kind of traffic anymore 😅

We proceeded south and stopped in Bowral for a swim, the little city looked quite nice with a lot of green.

In the early afternoon we reached the Kangaroo valley and our camping spot (Bandeela recreation area) which was suggested from the couple we met in the Deepwater pub.

We met another friendly older couple, both of them born in the Netherlands.
They told us that at nighttime wombats come out to eat and they occasionally scratch their backs on the lower part of cars and caravans. They are so sturdy you can feel the car moving!!

We had a walk in the park and we saw wombats and kangaroos in the wilderness🦘

We were more tired than we thought and we fell asleep at 5 in the afternoon, only to be woken up in the middle of the night by the wombats shaking our car, it felt almost like an earthquake!Read more

Great last weekend with the crew around Kangaroo Valley. Kayaking & fishing, wombat spotting. Although started to see the devastation of the 2020 bushfires.
