Mir händ üs scho riesig uf üse camper gfreut und vor 5 täg händ en mir in adelaide chöne go hole. Sofort händ mir üs uf dä weg richtig weste gmacht. Vo adelaide sind mir zerscht e stuck im landesinnere gfahre, bis stross dänn dä küste no gführt hät. Überwältigendi idrück und wunderschöni naturszenarie händ mir dörfe erlebe. Day 4 Elliston to Ceduna

Today we were back on the road getting closer to the Nullabor.
We packed up from the Walker's Rock Campground in the morning and said some goodbyes to some people we had met while there.
Once on the road we stopped at a landmark named Murphy's Haystack for some pictures and stopped at Streaky Bay for lunch on the beach while being entertained by a group of friendly seagulls.
At last we arrived at a Big 4 caravan park in Ceduna. Tomorrow we start on the Nullabor.Read more

Tuesday 11th September 2018
Arrived Ceduna about 3pm, met Gina at work, went for coffee at the servo (best coffee in town apparently), went to the pub for tea. Gina and I stayed up late going through her old photos, some great memories. She gave me photos saying she had enjoyed them for a time, now it was my turn – gorgeous girl, gotta love her generosity.
Wednesday 12th September 2018.
Spent the day with Gina, she took us out to Denial Bay, we had a walk along the pier, bloody freezing, blowing a gale. We had lunch at the Oyster Barn, best oysters I’ve ever had. Went into town to do some shopping, picking up some supplies for our journey to the WA border. She took us to the fish market where we picked up some very fresh flake and whiting.
Gina cooked dinner, the best whiting I’ve ever eaten, served on a bed of spinach leaves with roasted beetroot, onion, feta and roasted walnuts. Absolutely delicious. Gina and I stayed up talking whilst Mick caught up on some sleep.Read more

Left Port Augusta early - a cold start but soon 20+.
The country on to Kimba was mostly pastoral with dense stands of saltbush, bluebush and other herbage . Iron Knob with its shades of red and brown stood out with its open faced workings and excavations - won't be a knob one day , it will have vanished.
Wonderful roads straight as your eyes could see past Kimba , leaving the grazing country behind as it changed to expansive cropping land . There were many fallowed paddocks , a few being sown and some with a tinge of green shoots. Looked quite dry.Read more

West to East on The Nullabor

Hello from Ceduna, SA. The trip across The Nullabor was interesting, plenty of trucks, huge winds, some rain but enjoyable.
After leaving Kalgoorlie we headed for Norseman & than hung a left to head east.
The Nullabor Links golf course is a must to do as you play 18 holes across 1400 klms, tough but a bit of fun.
Roadhouses of various quality, amazing scenery & a great chance to listen to podcasts that Kimmy had downloaded.
Lucky we had the 60 to 70klm hr wind behind us. Helped with the fuel economy.
Spent 3 nights @ Roadhouse caravan parks, powered sites for a/c to have warmth was appreciated.
The Eyre Hwy was in excellent condition.
Now in SA, off to Streaky Bay tomorrow then back home.

Ceduna Foreshore

We are now back in Ceduna staying at the Foreshore caravan park, again we stayed here during our across the Nullarbor trip. It’s a nice park that has been updated again since we were last here, every site is now a slab site with gravel to park your car on. The ammenities are still as before but they were brand new 2 years ago.
We have a site against the foreshore perimeter fence which gives us views of the bay.Read more

Rainy Saturday at Ceduna

Bought the weekend paper, and a magazine. Settled down and read this morning. It's still quite warm, but rain is forcast for this afternoon. Ian and I did go for a lovely walk along the beach, but otherwise we are just enjoying one of our final days before home. A caravanning neighbour brought some chocolate biscuits over. What a lovely thing to do!Read more
