    Galashiels to Newtown St Boswell

    Drove to Newtown St Boswell and then took bus to Galashiels. Medium length walk with lunch in Melrose. Very tasty mushroom soup at Apple Jam.

    Melrose Abbey is partially closed, along with all the other local abbeys due to possible weaknesses in the lofty stonework, i.e. it might fall on your head.
