Today we docked at 7am at Port Chalmers on the east coast of the south island of NZ.
After breakfast on the ship we caught the shuttle bus for the 20 minute ride into Dunedin for a sightseeing look around this “Scottish look a like”city. Apparently the founders of Dunedin wanted to create another Edinburgh in NZ.
Unfortunately we could not get on some of the organised tours to see more of the wildlife and countryside but had fun exploring the city.Read more

Traveler When we were there in Nov 2012 the Dunedin's Caledonian Society celebrated 150 years of keeping Scottish heritage alive, so conversed with the locals in the supermarket and around town with them dressed in period costume . Unfortunately the celebrations prevented us from seeing the city with some main streets blocked off. But non the less very interesting. We did get to see the live show Calendar Girls at a local church converted into a theatre. Lovely city.
