Day 4/5 Chill Chill Chill - Adventure

    December 28, 2023 in Egypt ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

Chill Chill Chill - 3 days of laying in the sun ☀️ on the beach 🏝️ is enough for anyone.
We finished day 3 with a lovely Chinese meal. The clue is in the name Platter. There was enough for four people and that was just the starter. Prawn 🍤 noodles 🍜 for the main and once again a beautiful evening meal.
Day 5 - another lovely day on the beach 🏝️ and then this evening we went on a Egyptian Bedwyn safari.
Picked up from the hotel late afternoon and the a 30min mini bus ride out to the desert 🌵. Then the shock of my life. We were offered a trip on a camel 🐪 or a quad bike 🏍️. Back in the day there would of been hundreds of camels 🐪 instead there were at least a thousand quad bikes 🏍️ all with inexperienced drivers.
Our guide put a head scarf on us each and the "3 Musketeers Taliban" look alike a mounted our quad bikes 🏍️ and the guide Mhammond said push this button to go and this button to stop 🛑 (did you hear that Sharon...🤣)
Of we set into the mountains. Along with a thousand other riders with a huge dust ploom shooting into the nights sky and the mountains echoing back the thunderous noise.
We had a cameraman flanking us on the left taking videos and photos of the memorable event, at a cost of course.
The guide started to slow down and then the cameraman stopped to take our photo has we filed in behind him. Although Sharon had other ideas....!
It all happened in slow motion, she shot to the left and headed straight to the cameraman. His mouth dropped open his eyes widened knowing his fait Sharon and her quad bike took him out....😂
His number plate flew off and he picked himself up shouting "push the stop button". "I did said" Sharon. "Yes but you also have your thumb on the go button".....🤣🤣🤣
We carried on, nobody hurt just the cameraman's pride. Then we stopped at the foot of the mountains. Everyone off the Guide shouted. He then lined us up and got us to shout our names before we waited 4 seconds and the echo came back at us.
Back on the quad bikes and of to the main event with Sharon at the front leading the way. Not a bad event but recon the animal right in the UK would of had a field day with the monkeys 🙊 snakes 🐍 and Crocodiles 🐊 in the shown. We return back to the hotel dusty shattered and hungry but intact. 👍🏽😊

Day 3 Chill Chill - Daiquiri

    December 26, 2023 in Egypt ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Sleeping with Sharon, if you know what I mean, means you get "no" sleep. Like "No" sleep 😴 🐽.........
Try to get to sleep was the first challenge with Sharon doing her Bruce-Lee impression against a mosquito 🦟. It must of work because it spent the night nibbling on Amy’s leg 🦵🏾. Yep, just the one...😂
Up, a lite breakfast and then down to a new spot on the beach 🏝️
Bikini 👙 out and the sun 🌞 shining, the sea 🌊 lapping, a quick snorkel 🤿 with the fish 🐠 what more could you want. (A hard boiled stolen egg 🥚 and a Daiquiri. 🤷
Of to the bar we trot and the girls introduced me to a little cocktail 🍸. It taste more like a pineapple 🍍 drink 🍹 then an alcoholic drink. Dangerous.......
4 Daiquiris 🍸 later and is wasn't a trot back to the sun-beds more like a flip-flop 🩴 or flop back.
Spontaneity - why come to Egypt without seeing the local town. With a taxi 🚕 ordered we pile in and take the twenty minute drive to the town. Last time I came her was 25 years ago diving........
    Boy it's changed.!
A dust road and a couple of hotels. Now, it's like Blackpool on steroids. We found a traditional Fish 🐟 restaurant, right in the middle of a fish market. The smell was enough to put you of, well Amy has she was gagging 🤢...... lol.
Sitting down and looked at the menu, I made a promise to myself 6 months ago, always to try something different or ask the waiter what they would recommend.
Napper grilled, fried prawns 🍤, fried calamari, prawn 🍤 pineapple 🍍 rice 🍚 a huge section of dips and sauces puffed up pitta bread, sooooooo nice.
A little bit of that and a little bit of this the perfect meal with a complementary mint tea 🍵 at the end. Perfect...!
Back to the Sky bar at the hotel for a final Daiquiri 🍸 or two.
    Sharon says that's 5 today.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Die Odysee geht weiter

    December 4, 2023 in Egypt ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

    Shisha anyone?

    September 20, 2023 in Egypt ⋅ 🌙 30 °C

Another 2 dives today and a relaxing swim/snorkel in the red sea this afternoon. Stoked I got to see a nice big beautiful turtle 🐢 today.

After dinner, we went into a shop to buy a few souvenirs. Mohamed, the owner of the shop , invited us in to smoke his hookah and have a facial for free! And not just saying that and then charging us. Legitimately free! We hung out with him for a couple hours, smoking letting our masks dry and learning more about his religion and a few other conversations about his personal relationships 😂🙈😂.Read more

    Snorkelling in the Red Sea

    January 10 in Egypt ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

We had a lovely breakfast in the hotel buffet and then took a walk down to the beach to check out what we should take down for some snorkelling later on. We got our gear together and headed back down to the beach and the massive jetty that stretches out into the Red Sea over the coral reef. The jetty belongs to the hotel and most hotels along this stretch of coast have them. Walking to the end we could already see tropical fish swimming around in the shallows including picasso triggerfish and sohal tangs. We got our stuff on and snorkelled around the end of the jetty over an amazing coral reef with dozens of variations of hard corals and clams. The different species of fish we saw were incredible - tangs, angelfish, damsels, butterflyfish, wrasse, parrotfish and triggerfish - we even saw big pufferfish.Read more

    Hotel Stiegenberger Alcazar

    January 9 in Egypt ⋅ 🌙 20 °C

Our hotel is FANTASTIC! We were warmly greeted in the reception area with a drink and we were told everything about our stay at the property. We had a fab first meal in the buffet - so much choice! There was an outdoor BBQ area where we got some grilled prawns and crab. After dinner went to one of many bars and Sharon had a Mai Tai and Graeme had a delicious mocktail (can't remember what was in it though!). Later went to one of the al la carte restaurants to see if we could hire a shisha pipe - we got a pineapple flavour one.Read more
