    V Malezijooooo

    Zadnji dan v Phnom Penhu, imam dopoldne za zabit nekje…
    Odločim se it prečekirat en lokalni market, ki se imenuje Russian market (bog ve zakaj), kar se izkaže za mal bolj neprijetno stiskanje po ozkih hodnikih z mojim ruzakom😅.
    Odločim se usest na eno klopco in umiru pojest zajtrk (lokalne pin noodles) in en avokado-passionfruit smuti!
    Potem grem za zadnjo uro v en kafič na klimo in en dober kofe, da bom zdržala današnjo pot.
    Do letališča kar traja ker je ful guzva, ko pridem tja pa lih odprejo baggage drop. Gospa na pultu vpraša, kam grem po Maleziji, povem, da še ne vem.
    Me seznani z dejstvom, da brez nekega potrdila o transferju iz države ne moram naprej, tako da hitro online kupim avtobus o karto v Singapur za tri evre😅.
    Hvalabogu noben kasneje tega ne preverja:)
    Let mine hitro, v Kuala Lumpur prispemo ob šestih, tu so še eno uro naprej.
    Zrihtam si sim kartico kar na letališču ker najdem eno malo štacuno ki ima zelo ugodne eSim kartice!
    Potem pa na avtobus za dobro uro do glavne postaje, KL sentral.
    Tam me že čaka Sam, en kolega iz Laosa, ki mi je ponudil, da ostanem z njim par dni.
    Greva na hitro večerjo v kantino v šoping centru, ki je na glavni postaji, potem pa s taksijem do njegovega stanovanjca:)

    Day 61

    Die Metropole Kuala Lumpur 🌇🌃😍

    Vor knapp zwei Monaten sind wir aus Dubai abgereist. Nach nur wenigen Tagen Aufenthalt, hatten wir die Stadt bereits ins 💜 geschlossen und uns anschließend gefragt: „Wie oft wir das wohl noch sagen werden..??“ 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

    🚨‼️ DAS 2. MAL, GENAU JETZT 🚨‼️

    Kuala Lumpur, wir sind unfassbar beeindruckt von dieser Stadt und der weitläufigen Umgebung. Es ist alles strukturiert und durcheinander zugleich. Modern trifft alt. 🏰🏚️ Trotz der vielen massiven und hohen Gebäuden, ist es überall grün bepflanzt. 🌷🌳🌴🪴

    Man fährt mit der U-Bahn in die Stadt. Steigt am zentralsten Punkt aus, geht die Stufen 🏃🏽‍♂️ 🪜 Richtung Tageslicht nach oben und sieht sich einmal um… 👀 👀 Bähm… Sofort fühlt man sich wohl und heimisch zugleich! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒🏡

    Jede 🔩 die hier verbaut wurde, jede 🚦 die installiert wurde und jede Lampe die hier leuchtet, macht einfach Sinn. 💡👏🏻💡

    Wie man merkt, wir fühl(t)en uns hier sehr wohl. 😅☺️🫶

    Die letzte Woche verging wie im Fluge. Wir haben unseren 🪫 aufgeladen 🔋 und endlich mal wieder etwas ausgeschlafen. 😴 😴

    Nach dem Aufstehen wurde direkt die Bauüberwachung erledigt 🏗️✍️ 📑 🪖 und anschließend das Frühstück zelebriert, bevor es zur regelmäßigen Überprüfung der Wassertemperatur des Pools ging. 👮‍♂️🌡️ 🏊

    Natürlich haben wir uns aber auch die Stadt angeschaut und die ein oder andere Sehenswürdigkeit fotografiert. 📸 🤳🏻

    Dazu gehören z.b. der „Merdeka 118 Tower“ oder wie ihn Lena getauft hat „Schwertfisch“. 😅😅 Der Turm ist mit 678,9m Höhe das höchste Gebäude in Malaysia und das zweithöchste Gebäude der Welt. 🌎😳

    Neben den integrierten Malls, Büros und Hotels, kann die Turmspitze als „Kletterwand“ benutzt und die obere Etage über aussenliegende Glasböden angeschaut werden. 🤦🏻‍♂️😶‍🌫️🧗‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

    🚨 Ich bin froh, dass der Eröffnungstermin wiederholt verschoben wurde. 😅😂🫣😱

    Außerdem haben wir beim durchstreifen der Straßenzüge 🏃🏽‍♂️🦶 die „Petronas Towers + KLCC Park“, den „KL Tower“ sowie die „Street Art Gallery“ besucht. 📸 🎥

    Lenas Lieblingsdiziplin „Treppen steigen“ konnten wir bei unserer Tour zu den „Batu Caves“ im Norden absolvieren. Der Zugang der Kalksteinhöhle mit mehreren Hindu-Tempel kann nur über die 272 bunten Stufen betreten werden. ⛰️ Außerdem gibt es eine Dark Cave und die hier zahlreich lebenden Javaneraffen zu bestaunen. 🐒 🙉

    Diesmal hat auch alles reibungslos funktioniert, U-Bahn und Züge sind pünktlich gefahren und kalt war uns auch nicht. 🥵☀️

    Zwischenzeitlich sind wir durch die ein oder andere Mall spaziert, haben das Hard Rock Café besucht und einfach das wilde Treiben (und die riesen Döner Spieße) in den vielen Gassen beobachtet. 👀 🥙 🍻

    Am vorletzten Tag war Lena noch beim Friseur. 💇‍♀️💈 Ca. 45 Minuten sollte es dauern, wurde uns vorher gesagt. Nach 30 Minuten war der freundliche Herr bereits fertig und hat sich mehrfach entschuldigt, das es so schnell ging. 😅🤔🤦🏻‍♂️ Zur „Entschädigung“ gab es eine Kopfmassage und Haareglätten umsonst. 💆‍♀️🫸🫷💰

    Mit einem späten Mittagessen im Getränkeshop des Einkaufsmarktes und der abendliche Besuch des Street Food Marktes um die Ecke, haben wir den Tag beendet. 🥓🥗🍳🫔🍛🥘

    Der leider schon letzte Tag wurde nochmal intensiv für Vorbereitungen, Buchungen und recherchieren des nächsten Zieles genutzt. 🧑‍💻 🚆 ✈️ 🏨

    Außerdem hatten wir in unserem Apartment eine Waschmaschine + Trocknerfunktion (im Preis inbegriffen 😅) und haben somit nochmal unsere kompletten Sachen gewaschen. Die mussten nun aber auch alle wieder in die Rucksäcke. 🎒🫥🙄

    Zum Abschluss haben wir noch die „Helipad Bar“ in der Innenstadt besucht. 🚁🍸

    Ein ehemaliger Landeplatz auf einem ausgemusterten Hochhaus in bester Lage…. Da hatte wieder jemand eine gute Idee. 🤭💡

    Der nicht ganz günstiger Eintritt hatte zumindest jeweils zwei Freigetränke inkludiert. Die 360 Grad Sicht auf alle sehenswerten Gebäude der Stadt war sehr beeindruckend 🌆 und zum Abschluss konnten wir sogar noch ein kleines Feuerwerk in einer der umliegenden Straßen beobachten. 🎇 🍾

    Day 20

    Bookend it with an Ibis....

    The baby cried, and my head pounded. Luckily, I got the hangover from the cheap cocktails over and done with between 3 and 5am, so when I was woken by the girls at 7am I was ready for the day. The final brekkie of waffles by the beach, and as if that wasn't enough sugar, it was also Children's Day in Thailand, so our host very enthusiastically handed out ice creams for the kids too!!

    We got to packing, well, more like cramming everything into our single piece of checked in luggage. No easy feat. As we had the moto until mid morning, and there were still more pressies to buy, I took Olive and Miles up to the Plaza one last time. Miles did some good haggling, but still conceeded I am better....well I've had years of dedicated practice I told them 😜 In one shop we were the first customer of the day abd we watched as the owner blessed the shop with the money, tapping it a few times in a ritual. I wished her much luck for the rest of her day, and also took some comfort in knowing we had paid her a fair price. It's no fun when you gaggle so low it means the owners make no profit. Its definitely a happy medium feeling like you have struck a bargain but not gone too far.

    On the way back we stumbled on the local Saturday market, and had to stop for Miles to get a few final meat sticks! From then it was all the final wishes....I got my foot scrub and massage, Tessa and Sam Thai massages, which they said were the best of the holiday! Final fruit shakes, Som Tam and chicken nuggets (God the smaller ones have eaten alot of them this trip) and we finally made it into our minivan 30mins late. The driver wasn't worried about the travel time, so nor were we. One last final....a Chang, in a can, that I bought for the others as a surprise 😜

    We made it to the airport in good time, and despite us having to repack a bit at check in as our bag was somehow too heavy (probably the snookles fault) we got through and boarded with very little wait.

    Touching down in KL, we literally ran to try and make the free airport shuttle to the Ibis, and although we failed, we were glad we tried...and probably made the taxi driver very happy as Sam didn't haggle his price down....I was I the mini mart buying cup noddles for the kids dinner...that would not have happened under my watch 🤪

    We originally hadn't booked the Ibis, but a few days ago decided to switch our plans and tet to make the most of the stopover that WE hadn't originally booked....thanks Air Asia. But, so glad we did what we did. We arrived in time for a night swim in the massive pool, and blew the budget on burgers and wine/beer, before crashing in super comfy beds and what felt like a luxurious room. The kids who had all been ready to head home to home comforts yesterday now wanted to stay for longer at the Ibis!

    In the morning, alarms were on so the buffet breakfast and pool could be taken advantage of before we headed off on the 11am shuttle. We stuffed a bag full of cakes from breakfast, I even made a brie and grape sandwich to snaffle in my bag for our travels. The coach was equally lux with reclining chairs and footrests. KL is a massive airport and we knew the 11am shuttle might be cutting it a bit fine but we took our chances, and got to the gate close to final call, not before a final trip to the Family Mart to get sushi for the plane, not confident that the food we preordered plus the cakes we snaffled would get everyone through the next 8 hours.

    Despite the scant food and water we all made it through the flight with lots of screens for help and touched down just after midnight. Putting toilet paper down the loo again, we knew we were home. We all had a fantastic trip, but now ready for the home comforts of Vegemite, avocado, and tomato pasta!x    Read more

    Dieser Flughafen ist riesig. Das Schritte Ziel ist für heute bereits erfüllt. Nach dem engen Sitzen war das aber absolut notwendig.
    Zugegeben, AirAsia ist low Budget Holzklasse, aber ausreichend. Am Gang ist Platz für meine Beine 😉

    Taxi+Zug+Flug+Taxi

    Unser Tag war ein Reisetag aus dem Bilderbuch.
    Taxi pünktlich. Zug pünktlich. Flug pünktlich.
    Zugfahren auf Java ist wirklich angenehm. Bisschen rausgucken, bisschen schlafen, mal Musik hören etc. Mit KLM war es auch sehr angenehm zu fliegen und mal wieder etwas holländisch zu hören, da bekommt man ein bisschen Heimatgefühl :)
    Jetzt noch mit dem Taxi ins Hotel und dann geht das Zugabenteuer morgen nach Thailand aufs nächste Level. Wenn alles klappt fahren wir mit einem Nachtzug dritter Klasse weil alles andere ausgebucht ist. Aber erstmal müssen wir den Wecker hören und es über die Grenze schaffen. Wir sind gespannt.     The need for speed

    We hopped in the car and went broom broom broom all the way to Sepang. We went to watch Jack Miller race his motorbike. When it started he fell off his bike and his head hit another bike and he might have been ridden over. I was in disbelief and I bet his mum was scared and sad. His dad would have been worried. The ambulance rushed over and I was nervous watching him. Everyone cheered when they took him away because he was brave The other 2 riders walked away ok, but one couldn't ride. I think they were more cautious when they started the race again.
    I would never be a motorbike rider- too scary. I would need Grinchy to hold onto me.
    After the race we walked on the track and saw Jack Miller's shed. He is number 43 and he has the flag in his number.
    I liked going today, it was really really fun. We had to walk back to the car- maybe 3km. I was so tired but I was wearing my Jordan's so I was ok.
    Motor bike racing is scary and brother is never allowed to do it.    Read more

    One night in Kuala Lumpur

    With ferry, taxi for 3h and a short flight we headed to Kuala Lumpur coming from Samosmir.
    We stayed exactly for 24h in an impressive city. So we had limited time but went to the Jalan Alor Food Street and the Helipad Rooftop Bar in the evening. Next day we explored the Central Market which was built in 1888 as a wet market and is now the market for Malaysian culture, art and craft. We passed the Merdeka Square and saw the Sultan Abdul Samad building, the former State Secretariat of the British.
    KL is a place which looked very impressive and worth for another visit on another day!    Read more

    Kuala Lumpur

    Finally reached Malaysia where I can rest in my hotel close to the airport since tomorrow I have another flight to Medan in Sumatra. Kuala Lumpur Airport was very busy. I noticed that majority of people working here are from China, India, Pakistan and for sure I am missing out other people from nearby countries. Not many western folks around apart from some tourists like me. Quite funny I feel a bit like an alien but people are very polite and speak english, at least in the airport, the only thing I saw in 24 hours of travelling haha. The choice of food is huuuge, I have never seen so many food stalls in the airport and the snack packs are very funny and I have no idea what is inside. I ended up buying purple sweet potato chips which I ate for dinner haha Anyway tomorrow again another flight so gotta wake up early!!Read more
