      Antipaxos

      April 15 in Greece ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

ständigеn Bewohner vоn Antipaxοs sind wеniger
аls 50 und Touristen kоmmеn vοn
Wein, dеr an Tavernen in dеn benаchbarten
      Iоnisсhеn Inseln geliеfert wird.
Bekannt sind die zwei Hauptstrände Vrikа (mit
wеichem Sand) und Vоutοumi (Kiеs, aber mit
sandigem Mеeresbodеn). An beidеn Stränden gibt
Neopren Anzug.

      A day trip to Paxos

      May 28 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

We took a boat trip to the islands of Paxos and AntiPaxos (part a group of islands called Paxi).

In Greek mythology, Poseidon created the Paxos island by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet.

It was a full day on a full boat. We were lucky with beautiful weather and while large groups of people on a boat are not normally our scene, we enjoyed the day and overall we had a nice time. It’s a beautiful area of the Ionian Sea, with gorgeous turquoise water along the shores and amazing “blue” caves Koo, some big enough for large boats to enter them.

In addition to seeing the blue caves we visited the town of Gaios, the main town of Paxos. It’s a picturesque village, mainly focused on tourism but we enjoyed walking the small streets (after we had a delicious piece of Spanakopita at a local bakery).

      Paxos and Antipaxos

      June 29 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Well what a fantastic day! I would highly recommend Paxos with a visit to the sandy beach of Antipaxos (15 minutes by boat). The beach is amazing and looks just like the Caribbean.
The port of Gaois on Paxos is really beautiful too, the architecture looks Venetian. Coming back to the villa our taxi broke down but she called her husband who is also a taxi driver and we only waited a few minutes. A thoroughly lovely day!Read more

      Paxing our bags!!

      July 13 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

We welcome you with open arms, G.O.A.T.s of Mount Olympus!
The wakeup was cheugy this morning for Leg and Ru. Ru was smokin hot, in the literal sense, (but also in the figurative) and was deliriously half awake. Leg was choking, also in the literal sense (less so in the figurative). The air did not pass the vibe check of her throat, so she was a-coughing and a-sneezing. This was at like 5 in the morning, and the two went to the front room to get some air and some cold. Ru slept on the carpet, she is not bougie, but Leg kept waking her with coughing.
Fast forward a few hours, and we all had to pack our bags and skip town, because we are going to Paxi! Needless to say, packing was mid. We returned our hire car, but mum’s “morals” made us take a ton of time bc she outed us to the peeps and said that there was a nail in the tire. Lowkey a beige flag on her part though. But bros were not salty in fact they drove us to the bus station in record time, we were slightly worried by his driving but it also served, he was lowkey highkey flexing. The bus was a basic thang not much happened 🤷‍♀️ after that it dropped us off in the sunniest port ever which was not positively bussin it was too hot for us then we walked for kilometers, asking everyone we saw where to go. They all pointed us in the same direction: a restaurant thing. We kept taking Ls today, because the ferry was like nah, pass and the engine had broken down, so we had to wait for 1h30 for a 45 min bus to the 1h ferry in the south. But the bus ride was bussin’, we were in the backseat (drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar, jkjk, T Swizzle reffff). The boat ride ate, we played the song charades game, and we all took Ws. Then we walked for 10 minutes to our new hq and went for a swim. It was lowkey between mid and bussin’. The water was too warm. But we then walked to Gaios (yass queen slay name!) and bought some spinach pie that gave us the ick tbh because too much dill. Just too much. But we strolled back to hq, and Tate yapped about k-dramas. She and Ru practiced their soft smiles. It was lowkey lit.
Back at hq, we swam again, Leg and Ru moved a mattress upstairs, it was giving workout 101 vibes and they both nearly died. Tate was coolin’, as she was asnozzle. Plus 5 mins of chill time that was madly needed, and then we ate. And ate dinner, tonight we had pasta salad. Afterwards, Tate must have been physically tweaking because she offered to do the dishes alone. Leg yeeted some bread (and not the good kind 💵) at Ru’s head with great force. Then we composed this here bad boy blog for your enjoyment.

Time for our honorary mention and minute of silence for our fallen comrade. Lil’ Genius. Fool, you know Howie Duwett! It was lit yacking with you today. Can’t wait for you to serve with us instead of for Garden Ice! Peace right out.

      Cheeeeeese!!

      Paxos & Andipaxos

      July 23 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

      Grüsse
      Alessandra & Noemi

      Of Gods and Men

      October 12, 2023 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

The Gods were listening to Capt. Bob muttering about no wind and wanting to sell the mast and sails! On Tuesday, we motored from Gouvia, past Corfu town, along the Eastern Corfu coastline to a small fishing village, Petriti, where we spent the night bouncing and swinging as the wind and waves picked up. We had a lovely evening though with a young couple; she is Canadian and he is French, and it seems we've been playing sail tag with them since Sicily!
Wednesday morning we decided to do a hike before setting off but it was more of a walk along the coast so we didn't go far. There is a trail developed by an English woman that goes from one end of Corfu to the other and takes about 10 days with places to stop for the night. Our walk was not part of that!
The wind got up to 13 knots so we had a lovely sail to the mainland town, Mourtos. The trip was under 4 hours and is my idea of a perfect day! Until we came to anchoring...
Our dinghy line got caught in the propeller of the sailboat so we stopped the engine but we were drifting toward a catamaran! Bob lowered our anchor but not fast enough to prevent us from bumping the catamaran. Fortunately, the men on board were prepared with bumpers and were not concerned about the little scrape on their hull. It turns out they own 4 charter boats and said they'd seen and done worse and would just add it to their jobs list! They were so kind and understanding and suggested we could buy them a drink so when we saw them on the waterfront, we delivered a case of beer instead and had a chat.
The anchorage was beautiful with turquoise water and different little fish swimming around. We swam and watched boats come and go, some that we've seen in other anchorages. We enjoyed a meal on the waterfront then back to the quiet and calm anchorage for the night.
We spent this morning doing little jobs and had a swim before departing for Lakka, Paxos Is. Bob was hopeful that we'd be sailing the whole way but it was not to be. Perhaps some more mutterings to the Gods are needed! We arrived in another beautiful anchorage but a busier one with +25 boats: German, Austrian, Polish, U.K. Met a young fellow from Scotland and he and his wife live and work online aboard their boat. Same as the couple in Petriti.
Greece, in spite of our worrisome start, has been wonderful. A few challenges: biting bugs which love me 😬😟and getting water. Not every harbour has fresh, drinkable water so we are on rations until we can fill up again. Otherwise, beautiful sea, sky, birds, landscape and people. 😍

      Tripitos Arch (Bogen) Paxos

      April 14 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

      October 9 in Greece ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

Read more
