Emmersdorf an der Donau (Austria)

Such a lovely, sleepy little village in the Wachau Valley on the Danube. This was across the river from Melk. Our little hotel was wonderful, with a great spa and romantic outdoor seating for the restaurant. There was a little self-serve market down the street. It was just a room with food. Grab what you need, use the notepad if needed to figure your total, and then put your cash in the money slot! Trust-based system!

It was nice to walk along the river at night. Then once it cooled down, we walked up the very steep hill to where most of the town was located (who knew?! It was hidden!). The church towered above us as we hiked up, looking beautiful against a purple sky at dusk.. The view up there was so great. So many cute houses well-kept with flowers and everything so clean.Läs mer
