A relaxing day in Fukuoka

Today, one of my goals was to visit Nanzoin Temple on the outskirts of the city, a Buddhist temple featuring one of the largest reclining bronze Buddha's in the world, though it's not an antique statue, it's in fact from the mid 90s. It was a beautiful Temple with many picture worthy nooks and crannies, but I did not feel very welcomed as a foreigner since the place was plastered with this, this and that is prohibited notifications, most of the nice spots had photos prohibited signs, and I wasn't allows to dance and play music duh as if ... apparently they had some very bad experiences with disrespectful stupid tourists which prompted all of these preemptive measures (you were also not allowed to visit as a group with more than 8 people without getting permission and so on.) I still had a good time enjoying the scenic beauty. Afterwards I returned to the city and visited ohori park, a beautiful location where many people come to jog and workout. Finally I stumbled through the city to find a small store selling retro games again, when I finally found it, it was a flat in a building stuffed with treasures. Culture Arts
https://maps.app.goo.gl/St3NemAgk6AKf2cD9 - The owner was socially a bit awkward, but it was an interesting experience, Of course I digged up some treasure too. Last task of the day before returning to my Hotel was a quick visit to the Tenjin Christmas Market, I listened to Ode to Joy and Ave Maria live performances and enjoyed watching japanese people living the fantasy of a German Christmas Market, basically they just had food, lots of Wurst stuff and German 🍻 beer, but of course the atmosphere didn't come to close to the real deal back home.

Read more
